In Loving Memory... Were Going Deluxe! - A Jan 2013 PTR (TR Link 01/28)

Hello everyone! Welcome back to all my faithful readers and lurkers (why stay a lurker? Say hello! Id love to hear from you. )! If any of you have ever been to Disney with a baby, to Disney in January, or both, I NEED YOUR HELP!!! Pretty please?

If you are new here, Hi! My name is Mel. Please dont be shy, and come say Hi! This PTR will be much more fun with you in it! If you want to know more about me or about when all this Disney addiction started, check out the TR of our first trip:
Mega Waves, Date Night and Fast Pass baby!!

Our wedding in Cuba : Paradise does exist, I got married there!

You can also get the link to all the chapters of those two TR in the intro of my previous PTR : Our Disneymoon PTR + Wedding TR

And our Disneymoon : Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 Weeks Disneymoon Trip Report

Enough with the background, lets get started on this pre trip report, shall we?
Ill do things a little differently and start with the reason for the trip as that is where the title comes from.

Why : Most PTR the why is usually a why not? or a fun reason like a birthday. This one is a little different. If you followed my Disneymoon trip report then you know that my mom passed away 2 months ago. She was always the type to save up for later and never splurge on herself. I did convince her to take a trip with me over 10 years ago, and that gave her a boost to take another trip with a friend a few years later. I am so glad she did those because later never came for her. The lesson I want to take away from her death is that life is short, live it NOW (within your means, of course). I received a little money due to her passing away. Its not much, but its enough to make one of our dreams come true, which is to go to Disney. A bonus is that it will be Peanuts first trip.

When : Our original dates were suppose to be January 2nd to January 12. The three main reasons were to take part in the 5K during marathon weekend, to return in time for DD13 to have time to get back home and only miss three days of school, and to get a cheaper rate for the resort. It took so long for this trip to be official that by that time the stroller division of the 5K was full. Then finding cheap flights became a problem. We saw a great deal for flights leaving on the 1st, but we didnt book it right away and by the time we were ready to book it was back up in price. Finally we got lucky and found an even BETTER deal, but this time leaving on the 31st of December. Well be in Disney for NEW YEARS EVE!!!!!!!!!! I cant even believe it!!! I never thought in a million years that I would get to do that. Its so awesome.

We also changed our return time by a couple of days, so our dates are Dec. 31st to Jan. 10.

Where : Well you already know from the title that well be staying DELUXE!!!!! Ill keep the details a secret until I get to that update. What I can tell you though is that since we are now going to be in the World before the room-only discount starts, well be trying two different resorts. Anybody want to guess which ones?

Ill come back with the cast later on. And baby pictures. In the meantime, Id love to read your guesses for the resorts well be staying.

I saw your post on Facebook. We don't know each other, but I've seen you on other threads that we are both subscribed to, and I'm joining in.

***I'm back. I read the intros; I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I know how difficult it is...I lost my dad a week before our 25th wedding anniversary trip four years ago.

I'm going with Poly as your deluxe, but guessing you are going to stay at AOA for your first days.

If you live to be a 100, I hope to live to be 100 minus 1 day. So I never have to live without you.

On phone both fonts look fine, but on my desktop the original is a bit tough to read:/

For my old eyes, the second one is much easier to read.

Joining in. Can't wait to read more!

I'm going to say the Poly and Boarkwalk for your resorts.

As to the fonts, the second one is easier to read for me!

Thanks for the input everyone. I ended up going with an even darken green than the second font, so hopefully that should be fine for everyone on any type of screens.

The Cast

Before I introduce the resorts, I should probably talk about who is going on this trip of a lifetime.

Let's start with me. As I've said in the first post, my name is Mel. I look like Im 20, but Im actually in my early thirties. I'm a teacher and a new mom to a wonderful baby girl.

Favorite park : Its a three-way tie for first place. I like Hollywood Studios for the thrills (and TSM, and Red Velvet cupcakes), Magic Kingdom for the, well, magic, as well as the sheer amount of attractions, and Epcot for the experience overall vibe of the park. Animal Kingdom is fourth, but only by default. I love it a lot too!

My husband, Ron. He's 7 years older than me. He does some kind of office job, but most of all he is an awesome dad! He changes diapers, plays with her, and gets up in the middle of the night to feed her. I'm so lucky!!!

Favorite park: He loves DHS the most, I'm guessing because of TOT, Star Tours and RNR. He could spend the entire day riding these over and over. Like me though he actually loves all four parks, and MK, Epcot and AK (in that order) are not far behind.

Both my ticker and the first post say this trip will be Peanut's first trip. Who is this little Peanut, you ask? She's our new baby girl, Claudia. She's 5 months today!!

Obviously I don't know her favorite park yet. Instead, I'll just post more photos, because you can never have too many baby pictures, right?

Here she is, playing with her Baby Goofy.

We just started feeding her cereals this week. The first few days she'd take the spoon and shove it in her mouth. Now she's just lazy and waits for me to feed her.

There is one more person in the cast, and that is Ron's daughter, DD13. Ron does not feel comfortable with me putting photos of DD13 because we dont have permission from her mom. So Im going to cheat and put this photo of the side of her head, holding her little sister. Peanut was just 3 days old here!!

Also I wont reveal her real name. Instead Ill call her Otaku. It means nerd in Japanese. Dont worry, Im not insulting her, she calls herself that! She loves all things Japanese, anime, Korean pop music (K-pop) and Zombies. She enjoys going to Disney, but she is not a Disney fan. When she came to Disney with us at 9 y.o. her favorite park was Epcot
