non-character meals with a 5 year old?
We have a trip scheduled for Jan 2-7 with the play/stay/dine offer. DH would prefer to avoid character meals. We are looking for recommendations for kid friendly TS restaurants that would also appeal to adults and DS16.
Our ADRs are currently Teppan Edo 'Ohana (dinner) |

There really aren't any kid-unfriendly restaurants at WDW.

Agreed. Our kids have been to almost all of them, including signatures and have never found any of them to be not kid-friendly.

The Command considers us a bunch of losers. But we’re gonna do it right this time, ’cause we’re the best. If we don’t... We’ll be drummed out of the corps.

Same as above. All restaurants should be fine for a 5 year old.

I have a six year old, so I have spent lots of time pondering this same question (we don't care for buffets too much, so character meals are a no go for us generally)
Here's a couple more: Toy Story planet (CS at Hollywood Studios)-Really fun atmosphere for kids! lots of game-room type games around. Cosmic Rays (CS at Magic Kingdom)-They have an animatronic show my kids love!!!! Rainforest Cafe(Downtown Disney and Animal Kingdom)-My kids love animals, so they loved this! T-Rex Cafe (Downtown Disney)-Trying it this trip....looks fun!

My picks are: Coral Reef for sure. SciFi. Your 5 yr old would love to eat inside cars! TRex for sure. This is true. Theyre all kid friendly. Youre at WDW afterall.

Sci Fi diner would be fun, maybe 50's Prime Time cafe.
And I agree with the others. We've taken kids of various ages, and have never felt out of place anywhere. Well, except for when my then-4yr old threw up in Cali Grill.

T-rex is a must if you kids like dinos. My boys also really liked Pizza Planet.

Another vote for TRex. The atmosphere was so fun and the food was really good.
I would also suggest San Angel Inn, Coral Reef and Liberty Tree Tavern. |
