BLT Lakeview
Considering BLT Lakeview for a trip in February . I've read on the DIS that you don't really want to stay on the inside circle. My question is basically what are the chances of getting a decent view with a Lakeview reservation?

We stayed lakeview at BLT in September. You have a much higher chance of getting a room in the inner "c" versus outer. There are just more rooms in the lakeview category here. I requested not to be in the inner "c" and we were. It isn't that bad. We had a lovely view of the lake and a view of the pool. What I didn't like was being able to look into everyone else's room but I adapted and got over it. I would still say the inner "c" views are decent.

what is a "decent view"? if you are happy to get an actual "lake view" i think you'll likely be pleased (and thrilled if you wind up with an angle where you can see the castle). if you are counting on a partial view of the castle, book a theme park view room as most of the "lake view" rooms naturally have no view of the castle.

We stayed there in August and had a Lake View on the outer part. In addition to the lake we also had a partial view of MK.

No, as someone who stayed in September in the inner circle, you should not be worried. The rooms on the outer circle, to me, are more desirable but the view of the lake from the inner circle is lovely. There are many more lakeview rooms in the inner circle versus the outer. We requested to be on the outer circle and did not get it. Our view was still beautiful and we had a fantastic time.

We returned two weeks ago. We requested north side, even number, high floor. We ended up in the inner circle. At first I was a bit disappointed, but the view was really great of the lake and the pool area. Sometimes they will only honor one of your requests. In our case it was a high floor which was nice. In the end, we were so rarely in the room, it was no big deal.

BLT is half a circle shaped. The inner circle faces the pool as well as the lake as well as the rooms across to the other side ( too far to see in each others room so no need to worry about that)
We stayed in a BLT studio last week. I requested high floor, even number room. We got room 7908. We were on the 9th floor and our room when looking straight out from the balcony faced the lake. We were on the outer part of the circle. However sitting on half the balcony we got a great view of the castle and space mountain. So we could watch wishes comfortably. We did not have to lean out over the railing...we just rearranged the chairs and sat there with our drinks in hand. |

Thanks, Tink! Did you choose a higher floor in order to see Wishes better? And why the even number room?

Anyway, we ended up at BLT. And I am grateful. We loved every moment of our stay there. However, our goal is to try all resorts, so it may be awhile before we get back. Anyway...this link (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...65&postcount=1) from the DVC portion of these boards will help explain how the room numbering system works and also provides views from a variety of rooms. Even numbered rooms are on the outside circle; odd numbered rooms are in the inner circle. I chose an even number and a higher room because I was hoping for a partial view of the MK. Granted, it was a request, and that request could have backfired on me. However it did not. We had a great view of the castle and SM. Of course, this meant at night we had an awesome view of Wishes. We did go up to the Top of the World Lounge on the top floor to watch Wishes one night. However, DD8 had to stand on her tippy toes to see them go off since the wall was too high for her to see over. She could have stood farther back but there were a good number of people standing near the wall blocking her view. |
