January 2014 discount watch!!

Never too early, right?

The CM I spoke to on the phone said they would begin taking reservations for jan 2014 sometime in jan 2013... But a different CM stated that you could make a reservation at 499 days. Not sure which is true! But I'm staking out the site until our plans are finalized.

Anyone else going/thinking of going??

You should be able to book room only now, that's what the 499 day mark is (room only res) I think. I booked our stay for Dec 2013 a few months back, was even able to get a AAA discount.

Good luck!

Wahoo, congratulations! What a fun honeymoon

About rebooking a package - the CM recommended that too, but make sure you read the different cancellation policies between room-only and package reservations.

We were looking at possibly renting DVC for our trip - it's so far away that part of me feels like there's no sense in booking anything quite yet. The other part of me says BOOK IT NOW because... I want to go now! The problem is that DVC rentals would be non-refundable, but need to be made early, while room reservations are refundable at least up to a certain point. Hrmph.

I was told I could book a room only reservation now and then in summer when they release the pkgs for 2014 I can change it. She said it meant cancelling the room only and rebooking it as a package. Sounds like a lot of work. So I'm just going to (not so) patiently wait until this summer to book. Hoping for a pin code OR news about free dining!

We are (not so) patiently waiting!

We just came back about 2 weeks ago and are itching to return to WDW, so we're planning a short (3 night) trip in January 2014 to celebrate our middle daughter's 5th birthday... that should hold us over until our next BIG family vacation there in November 2014.

Right now the dates we're looking at are 1/8-1/11 and we're going to stay at a monorail resort since this will probaby be a Magic Kingdom only trip.

I really want to book.. I might even do a room only just so I know we have SOMETHING and then change to a package later if it seems like a good deal.

We had the Dx Dining Plan on this past trip and it was WAY TOO MUCH FOOD, so I don't think we'll go for a meal plan again, and because of that I'm not sure if the package will be worth it.

We'll see....

In the past I have always booked out at the 499 mark & never had any problems calling & adding a package to my existing reservation. They may have technically canceled & re-booked behind the scenes - but there was never a problem keeping the same resort and dates.

I want to wait and see if there is a dining plan for then. I booked a room as a cm when i did the program but havent done it as an adult. Only went as a kid before. I just am super excited to go back. Would you recommend calling or just booking it over the website? Should we wait until we can book everything? I just dont know! Haha

This is when we're looking at going! I keep trying to figure out pricing and whether the dining package is a good deal for us or not - I'd love it if they had free dining then I wouldn't have to think about it!

DH doesn't get his bonus until March, so I'll be waiting for that before I book anything. It's hard to be patient!

Joining in! Dh and I are planning our 15th anniversary trip to WDW For Jan 10-19th! I can't wait to start planning. I think we are going to stay at Wilderness Lodge, and get the DxDP (so we can do a signature meal each night!).

Joining in! We are going for 2 weeks (10 days at Disney and 5 days at the beach). Aiming for January 15th, but I need to wait until the airlines release their departure schedule for next winter. Sometime in the summer I hear.

Still torn between staying onsite or offsite. My families first trip. Kids will be 8 and 5. It will be a Christmas surprise and I can't wait!

Should I book a room early and then change the dates once I know when the airlines will fly out of where I am from? Or should I just wait until July when the schedules come out. This sucks as I'll need to do my ADR's in July and I might not know when the flights go.

DBF & I did the dining plan on our past 2 trips. I made a spreadsheet & found that it saved us around $100. I wanted to try this next trip without the dining plan, but after looking at menus & pricing I found that it was cheaper to do the DDP again It really depends on how much you eat & if you like a lot of dessert
