Red face polyester...blech!

DD's orchestra teacher decided all the girls in Symphony Orchestra had to have matching long, tuxedo skirts. No problem, it makes sense as they are in a couple of competitions this year. However, DD bought the skirt home and it is horrible, stiff, itchy, yucky polyester!

I have washed it twice but it still feels icky. Does anyone have a magic formula/trick/voodoo to soften it up? DD unfortunately inherited my ridiculously sensitive skin and I am worried it is going to make her break out. Short of having her wear leggings underneath, any ideas?

I was just about to suggest a long slip or some other type of underwear to keep her skin from being in contact with the polyester. I'm not a big fan of polyester either, but it does help the outfits look uniform and unwrinkled during performances. A lot of kids are not diligent about hanging up their concert stuff properly and I've seen some pretty bad looking uniforms that obviously spent 1/2 a semester balled up under the bed.

I'd think a long slip would help.
