Question about SW flight cancelling it timeframe
Ok so I booked my return flight for Nov 7 on points and now I am going to extend my trip and head down to Ft Lauderdale area and fly back out of there a week later.... I still have the Nov 7 trip booked just in case because of good price.... when should I cancel ? is there any penalty or deadline for canceling? any help? thank you.

I have a similar situation
booked to fly down on 11/29 but I may be able to fly out earlier so I booked another flight on 11/27, all with points. You can cancel at any time and the points are returned to your account, no penalty. So, when I figure it out, I'll cancel the one I don't need. But this way I got a good price on both. KWIM?

If you are not using points and booked the "wanna get away" fare, you get a credit to use on a SW flight for one year from the date you originally bought the tickets.

I couldn't find it on their website either. I called and spoke to a live SW person and was told that all points would be returned to my account with no penalty charge if I canceled and I would also get the $5 fee back.
