Sick at day 5

I have the worst sore throat and we leave on Sat. morning for Paris followed by Disney. Any suggestions for a quick cure? Do you still go when you are sick? I know I must get better by then if I rest.

Drinking lots of boiling water with honey and lemon added plus paracetamol works for me

I went yesterday for a bit and I'd spent the weekend in doors with a temperature, sore throat and stuffy nose. Hope it will have stopped raining for you as the weather is horrible atm

Try and rest as much as possible

Drinking a lot of lemon tea with honey, but I will try the paracetamol along with it. Thanks! I looked at the weather and it isn't great but we will do what we can. I think there might be something going around because it seems everyone has a variation of this. Sorry you also caught it. I knew Thursday I was not doing Ok but had company coming for the weekend so I did my best to clean and entertain for the weekend. I guess that is why it is take so long now to get better.

Its absolutely disgusting but that Vicks throat spray and covonia always works wonders for me! The throat spray temporarily numbs the pain and the covonia tends to help it last for a few hours. That is my formula for 'really' bad colds.

Also if you want to feel more human and you still have the cold when you are there Lemsip 12 hour flu caps really do hit the spot. I had a job once where I couldnt take time off sick and these were like magic pills!

Sadly I've run out of my stock and you can't buy them outside of the UK

That's why I drink the honey/lemon/paracetamol concoctions

I've never heard of Convonia but I see it's UK only, will have to look out for it next month

Tyrozets are awesome for a sore throat... forget those Lemsip or lozenges. And anti-congestion for the stuffed up head

That's why then, I luckly got not do anything this weekend so slept a lot and just took things easy.

My OH has gone back to work today and he is still suffering a bit with it

If you stay wrapped up, scarf around the throat, and take as much rest as you can I'm sure by Thursday you will be fine
