MNSSHP Wristbands: Do they work?

We are planning a trip to Disney this Halloween and I purchased tickets for the Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom. I know you turn in your ticket for a wrist band and that they 'party' starts at 7:00pm.

But, I was wondering how Disney gets all of the non-party people out at 7?

I would think:

a) It would take quite a while to get everyone out.

b) It would be very easy to cheat the system. I mean if a group of kids really wants to be there, is security going to chase them down if they don't want to be caught?

The reason I ask about (b) is that it seems many people/kids these days seem to think nothing of doing things like this. Examples:

People abusing Handicap parking spaces.

People going into the exit door at Costco just to go to the food court. (I have seen people just blowing off the attendants who ask to see their membership card...)

etc....

Are most people honest about this at Disney? I would think that just because of the number of people in the park, if even a small number of people wanted to skirt the system, they would cause major crowding.

I was at the party on the 14th...most people left on their own by 7...those that didn't were escorted out (I saw this a couple of times)

There are always people who will try to stay, but the CM's are very good about escorting those without bands to the exits. They check at ride, restroom and shop entrances.

Nobody will be allowed to enter any ride queues or purchase anything after 7pm without a wristband.
Yes, Disney CMs, and security if need be, will work on getting anyone without a wristband out of the park. Yes, it does take a while.

After 7 pm, people without wristbands are not allowed to do anything. This is NOT like evening EMH where they can mill around and do anything except rides. They will not be allowed to enter shops, or to buy anything even at the popcorn carts, or into restaurants, or even into the bathrooms.

For the first couple of hours, there will be CMs *everywhere* checking for bands. Sometimes you will get asked to show your band less than 10 feet from the last CM who requested it.

Anyone without a band will not be allowed to continue further into the park, but must turn around and walk towards the exit. You won't be allowed to cross over from the Hub to any of the Lands, even if your family is still back in the park. CMs patrol the parade audience checking for bands and if you are caught without one you will be escorted either to Guest Services to buy one or (your choice) out the front gates.

After a certain point, you will no longer be requested to exit the park... instead, you will be walked to the gate by CMs who stand there while you exit the turnstiles.

If you refuse to comply with CM requests to leave the park, security will be called. I assume that if you are running from security, you will be tracked and caught and unceremoniously dumped out on your tailbone, as you should be.

It does take a bit to clear out folks, but it's more efficient than you probably think. They have CMs stationed throughout the park that prevent folks without a wristband from moving deeper into MK. At the arteries to the park, it's not just one or two CM, but enough to form a human chain across the walkway, so you can't just slip by when one CM is busy. You can probably get past the CM if you really try, but it means you have to deliberately ignore and possibly push past them. It's not something that you can do accidentally. They also station CMs at the entrances to all rides and stores (and according to other posts, bathrooms) so that if you don't have a wristband you can't enter. They also check for wrist bands as you wait for the parade.

There's a couple of pictures in last year's easywdw.com post on the MNSSHP that shows how many CMs are there to stop people without wristbands from getting further into the park:

You will have to have your wristband to get in a few lines before 7 PM: the dwarves and the princess line for the party (when the princes come out) just to name a few. We were fourth in line for the dwarves last year and the CMs came out to check us at 6:45 (maybe even earlier) and a few people were asked to leave because they didn't have wristbands.

The year before, we were checked about 6:45 for Rapunzel's line too.

I got a pic of all those CM's just as they got the go ahead to move on. We were totally shocked to round the corner and see all those CM's blocking people from going further into the park.

This will be my 4th party and I've never seen any issues with people not leaving.

we were there on the 21st and they had the paths to the castle roped off and CMs checking wrist bands of those coming and going..if you didnt have a band you were not allowed to enter and instead had to go down another path to the exit. We were asked quite a few times to show our bands thought the night..even int he rain

I have noticed a lot of people at the stage shows and the parade without wristbands. The CMs do scan the crowds and ask the ones they notice to leave but there's still a number that try to beat the system. There are also a number that create a scene in hopes that they will let them slide.

You would think, as Disney can make this sytem work so well, they would be able to assert the same authority to line cutters and queue jumpers...

Those are he-said/she-said situations. Nobody who gets in line properly gets a wristband.

omg, but wouldn't it be nice?!?

"This wristband certifies the wearer as someone who knows how to behave in public like a polite member of society instead of a semi-feral self-centered doofus. Please allow him or her to tour the park at will."

You didn't get one of those last trip? I'll post a picture of mine.
