Mannheim Steamroller Holiday Concert - The DIS Discussion Forums

My family and I are going to be at Universal Dec 7,8 & checking out on the 9th. Just found out that Mannheim Steamroller is doing a holiday concert on the 8th and 9th.

For those of you that have been there during the Holiday festivities before -- where will this concert be held? Is it like at Epcot where you can sit down in an amphitheater? My DH has a hard time standing for long periods of time, so trying to figure out how this is going to work. We LOVE their music and would really like to hear them In case it matters -- we will be staying at the HRH.

It has been held at the Music Plaza stage in the past. That is standing room only. You can rent a wheelchair for him if he is not able to stand for a long period of time.

We were there last year and everyone sat down on the grassy areas after the concert began. This was after we were told that everyone would be standing up the whole time like every other concert held there.

Yeah, I went to almost every one of their performances last year and for the most part, people sat down. I was near the front and everyone up there usually sat down.

Get there early and sit back at Monsters Cafe outside. It's back a little but they have chairs and tables.

Last year I was surprised that there was no "get up and cram close to the stage and stand during the concert" activity like there was in previous years. I had a nice ground seat 20 feet from the stage. I think it was because they had several weekends of shows and not just one or two shows total. This spread the crowds out throughout the month. I expect that the same will happen this year. Shows on 8 different weekend nights in December is the most ever scheduled.
