A Foodie's Honeymoon - Better Late than Never DR - Hollywood Brown Derby 10/23

Hi everyone!

I have been lurking for a long time and I've debated whether to do a pre-trip report or a pre-dining report. I am a foodie. Pre-dining report it is!

Introductions

This is me with my DD a year ago.

My name is Rosey and I'm an artist and satm. This honeymoon is seven years late. When DH and I got married, we couldnt afford to go. Now, we have a DD and have a sitter lined up for her, this trip is possible. DD will go eventually when she is nine. We are taking our honeymoon this year- finally!

I am frankly terrified. I am afraid that when I go, I will fall in love with WDW and not want to go anywhere else. This can happen yes?

I went to WDW when I was 8, and again when I was 14. I am coming back at 32. This will be DH's second time at WDW.

We are on the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan and staying at POFQ.

Your plans sound great! Congrats on finally getting that honeymoon!

Yes, it can and does happen that you won't want to go anywhere else. I actually fell in love with WDW twice ... first with DH and then after a 10 year absense again with DS (then 8). I am definitely one that doesn't want to vacation anywhere else!

Have a great time!

Thank you so much!

I think I am in for it now... Falling in love with WDW. I loved Disney as a child and have all their movies as well as Pixar ones. I can't wait to bring my Nikon DSLR to the trip. I am afraid my photo album will have too much food porn and not enough of me and DH.

I am subscribing to your thread as I really enjoyed both your photography AND descriptions of the food! I'm ashamed to say that I'm not sure it's the food or the WDW flair that I'm addicted to. While hubby and I have gone for long weekends to his father's cabin in the hills of West Virginia, this is technically our honeymoon as well! We married 11 years ago after both having been divorced before. Up till now all of our vacations have been with 2-5 children in addition to ourselves. I'm so looking forward to our trip as well as your trip report Your photography is amazing and I'm going to attribute some of that to your art background but much to your natural "eye".

What a great start to your trip with a 5/5 for Le Cellier!! Your photos are stunning which makes me ask - do you pubish any photos professionally because you have such an amazing talent. I'll definitely need to read up on your photo tips!

Sorry your trek to get to LC was such a stressful event but I hope after that things went smoother!!

I'm looking forward to so many more wonderful reviews!!

Your 7-year plan sound like something amazing to look forward to!

Looking forward to your reviews! Hopefully you'll fall in love just enough that it'll be a very special place to you, yet you'll still want to go to other places.

Thank you so much Here's hoping! Your nickname reminds me that I must try the famous Dole Whip at the Aloha Isle. I think I better start listing all my snacks as well.

My plan is to eat so much that my DH will have to roll me onto the plane back.

Awesome plan! I think that's almost a guarantee with the Deluxe Dining Plan.

The dole whip might not end up as your favorite snack, but I highly recommend trying it. In fact, I recommend the pineapple-vanilla swirl dole whip, since I think the flavor contrast really adds something extra.

Joining in! Looking forward to your review of captain's grille. It's one of the places that I'm considering adding for our December trip. And the jalapeño cheese pretzel is my all time favorite snack in the world. I've only ever seen it at AK. That would be great if they added locations because I would love to get it multiple times and we never go to AK more than 1 day. I hope you have a fantastic Disneymoon!

Hey Rosey. Congrats on your honeymoon! I just stumbled into this thread and am very much looking forward to hearing more. I'm going in November and some restauarants you will be visiting are the same as the ones I lined up.

Oh and those food pictures look amazing! I'm from Ontario too. Which city are you in if you don't mind me asking?

These are homemade Cheddar Spring Rolls.

I am down to a week left and I am so excited. I am still trying to get a 3pm reservation at Le Cellier but I have had no luck so far. This week will be tight and I will try and cram in as much food porn photography taking as possible.
