Smile Does this mean we aren’t going to the mountains? ** 3/6 Link to new PTR**

(Installment links in 2nd post)

When you plan a family trip you have certain expectations. Many families think it will be the time of their lives. Me, I prayed that my son, Josh and I wouldn’t kill each other before it was over and never talk again. Stubborn, prideful, and never saying I am sorry are ways to describe him, but we wanted to try this trip so we went for it. Join in to see if any of us came home with battle scars.

I’m Tracy 39, Disney addicted and proud of it. I love planning, talking about, making things for, and going to Disney as much as I can. This was my 6th trip. Over the past year and a half I have lost a lot of weight and then gained some of it back, I am mad and ashamed of myself and had an aversion to cameras this trip. You might see some of me when the photopass cd arrives.

Bill 39, Disney addicted, although not as much as I am.

He is intelligent, compassionate, caring, and has a great sense of humor. I admire and love this man with everything I have. It was his idea to trade in our December Polynesian Resort Disney trip for the family one. I can never say no to those blue eyes. This was Bill’s 11th trip.

Josh 20, my son.

He actually does smile sometimes, that picture just cracked me up. He lives with his grandma (my xMIL), his girlfriend and her two kids. I know I mentioned some negative adjectives in the first paragraph about him, he is very complex. He is fiercely protective, loyal, loving, and caring as well. We do have to work on the patience issue with him though. He is an “I want it and I want it now” kinda person. This was Josh’s 2nd trip.

Abbey 28, kind, loving, sensitive and way too stressed on this trip.

She really needed to wear a referee shirt and have a whistle. I adore her and am so thankful that she is in my son’s life. It was Abbey’s 1st trip.

Christian, 12, brainy, diagnosed ADHD but the more time you spend with him he seems to have many Asperger traits. He was up for goofy pictures, he came up with this one himself.

He takes things at their literal meaning, is awkward socially, has no understanding of personal space, etc. He can be exasperating but we love him to pieces, he became our buddy on this trip. This was Christian’s 1st trip.

Last, but certainly not least:

Hannah, 4 our pixie.

She is exactly what the Tinkerbell pin I got her said: “Little Miss Attitude”, but not in a bad way. She loves to be the center of attention and is very entertaining. She always had us giggling. This was Hannah’s 1st trip.

A little background for those who didn’t read the PTR: Disney Codes + Bill = Trouble. Josh and Abbey learned about the trip in June, the kids were told that we were taking them to Bill’s parents vacation home in the Smoky Mountains. We were driving to Nashville the night before leaving for Orlando and having them watch a slideshow I made them to spring the surprise.

Next installment… the trip begins

What a great Epcot day! I love Hannah's dress. It looks so pretty in all the pictures.

I love Soarin'. I can just feel the wind on my face!

Sorry about the fight with Josh! I'm glad that karma bit him in the butt, but also glad that you were there to help with the blisters. A true Momma!

What a fun meet with the Fairies!! We met Terrance too and he was a lot of fun.

The picture of Tink and Bill should be on a poster somewhere! It is awesome!

I cried when A. met Sleeping Beauty. It's just something about it!

Can't wait for the next installment!!

Hey Tracy, after 2.5 weeks with very little computer time I finally got caught up! The Princess/Fairy pics are priceless. Sounds like the Kids and Bill had a great time!

I look forward to the next update.

I've read all your disney reports and loved reading them, though for the most part they were long finished when I got to them. This time I'm really excited to read along while you are writing your TR! I can't wait to hear all about your long awaited family trip and hope it was all you were wishing for! Sounds like it's gonna be interesting and I'm anxious to see the pic and hear how the kids reacted to the big surprise!
Btw, I love your little bouncy Santa Mickey thing, so cute!
I am finally starting to feel like myself. It was so great getting to meet you last year.

Our adventure begins…

Early Tuesday November 3rd, I was getting ready to take luggage out to the van, all 5 pieces of luggage, including a battery charger for the wheelchair, Hannah’s dresses and things I had gotten the kids. I went into the bedroom to make sure I had gotten everything and came back to see this:

A very annoyed Ace NOT liking the luggage being out. He had to investigate:

I tried to get him to look at me but got these instead:

I gave up on that and took things out to the van. All too quickly Ace was with the boarder and we were on our way to pick up the rest of the family. They came out with NINE yes 9 pieces of luggage including carryon’s. Thank goodness we were flying SouthWest.

That is not all the luggage that ended up around Bill. Then we had to pile people into the van:

The kids were excitedly talking about the cabin and playing pool, seeing mountains, and maybe getting in the hot tub. Abbey and I looked at each other and smiled. We all buckled up and were on our way.

Hannah hammed it up in the back, while Christian played a video game:

After two potty stops we were in Nashville. We got our room key to a double queen suite and hopped in the elevator. The first of many “I want to push the button” conversations took place. Later in the trip I solved that issue by saying I was the elevator button pusher!!

We dropped off some luggage, as you can tell Abbey was suffering from Disney-nonsleepbeforethetripitis:

We got her up and got everyone’s order for Jack in the Box and Josh and I went to pick it up. We ate and told the kids I had something on the computer I wanted them to watch. We explained it had to do with the trip and I would be reading it to them, but they had to be quiet until the end so Hannah would understand what was going on. They both said they were ready to watch.

For those of you that didn't see the slideshow I made or if anyone wants to see it again, here it is:

Next installment… The video revealed to the kids (like I would give up the surprise already)
