    DAS changes coming WDW

lol ok, so the accommodation you are proposing is that people should wear depends when they go to Disney. Hehehehe. I’m imagining how that conversation will go with the CMs. Realistically, this plan is very naive and makes a lot of assumptions. Imagine this…not everyone “eliminates” in...

    DAS changes coming WDW

What a shame. This may have ended my Disney trips. Even a return-to-the-line type of pass will not work for my needs. Access to an appropriate place and/or the appropriate supplies is too distant from most queues. If I need to leave to attend to a problem, by the time I get to a location...

Need a funny dessert for hillbilly theme

I’m enjoying your suggestions. The moonshine suggestion made me think of a whiskey bread pudding that my mother in law has made. Hmmmm Feeling inspired.

I still feel bad about how I treated the receptionist

Not the first, and not the last person to air their frustration on the person on the other end of the phone. I recommend making an appointment to discuss your concern directly with the prescriber. That way there is not a person in the middle to take the brunt of it.

Need a funny dessert for hillbilly theme

I will be vacationing with friends in the smoky mountain area. We are assigned with a team task of cooking a meal for everyone (around 15 of us). My team (2 people) is making a layered chicken casserole…claiming it to be featuring the goose that keeps pooping in my driveway, a cucumber and...

My friend just moved to Indiana and is buying a Generator

Indiana gets hit by snow and ice in the winter. When it’s bitter cold and you have no electricity, be thankful for the generator.

Do doctors reject patients that offer to pay out of pocket?

Places you can go for care without insurance, and pay out of pocket: urgent care, retail clinics, ER and concierge practices. Most providers are employees. Admittedly, there are a few group practices that still exist, these are groups that have a lot of leverage to do so....typically...

Do doctors reject patients that offer to pay out of pocket?

I agree, there are some shady practices when it comes to "balance billing". How it works: Your insurance company has a contract to pay a certain price for services, for example, The visit is priced at $120, but the insurance contract says it will pay $80. The medical office accepts that $80...

Do doctors reject patients that offer to pay out of pocket?

I will attempt to explain why, in some cases, a provider cannot accept cash for services. If a person is insured through a government program i.e. medicare or medicaid, that person may NOT pay out of pocket for services and the provider may NOT accept payment in cash. In the case of...

Do doctors reject patients that offer to pay out of pocket?

When a person has pre-existing disease, they may be eligible only for the high risk insurance plan which is very expensive. Each states does this a little differently. So while the poster used the word "uninsurable", that's not exactly true. however, it is true that she likely cannot afford...

    choosing a hot tub

We are looking to get a hot tub. We had a swim spa at our previous home and loved it. But at our current age and stage, a hot tub spa is a better fit. A hot tub is vastly different than a swim spa. There are so many options. How do you choose? Are there any features that you prefer, or...

    sudden death in athletes

I can say that yes, the heart screenings discover anomalies. I don't have statistics. But there are things found on these echocardiograms that were previously unknown. An echocardiogram is like an ultrasound of the heart. it is not invasive. not scary. not a big deal and not costly.

    Covid? Strep? Flu?

consider requesting a throat culture, sometimes the rapid strep test can be wrong. Another thing to consider, do you live in an area that is affected by smoke from the Canadian fires? The pollution in the air in my area is causing considerable sore throats. Also seeing a lot of eye...

    sudden death in athletes

more kids are injured at practices than at games. Practices can be rather intense workouts and ALL players are working out, whereas during the games, not all are exerting at the same time. There are more breaks for kids at games than at practices (with the exception of soccer perhaps). But...

    sudden death in athletes

i have found some surprising things through the years during sports physicals. you would be surprised how many kids out there don't have a primary doctor and don't get annual check-ups. There are so many things that are not caught during a sick visit...so we have sports physicals for the...
