    All Stars Family Suites

We are also a family of 5. We loved staying in the family suites. A lot more space than a deluxe resort at a lower price. We have also stayed at connecting rooms at Pop Century. The space is the same, but the family suites are better designed for sharing this space. However, it is nice to...

Help me to decide which resort for our next trip!!!

You can't go wrong with any of those choices. We have stayed at the BC, CR and Poly and will be staying at BLT in January. BC is your pick if Epcot is your favorite park and you want a novel pool environment. You can easily walk to Epcot from BC, but it is a much longer walk from YC. Pool...

Arrival day (half day): Epcot or Downtown Disney?

Personally, I would go straight to Magic Kingdom on my first day - particularly with a 3 and 6 year old. We always try to arrive by noon and go straight to MK after checking in. It is the park that gives you the greatest feeling of "disney magic." Even if it is too busy to ride much when...

    Pop vs All Star Movies

I have stayed at both POP and ASMu relatively close together. The standard rooms are very similar. I thought it was easier to navigate through the buildings at POP and it has a better food court. ASMu has the Family Suites. We are a family of 5, so I prefer the integrated suite over two...

    Carrying a Vid Camera Around???

I always carry my video camera. Sometimes I keep it out for long periods of time and sometimes it stays in the bag for a long time, but always available. I have a large flip out screen, so I usually hold the camera at hip level and shoot video while walking or watching. I've gotten good at...

Come Join the Over Forty Summit Plummet Club!

I joined the club! I rode the Summit Plummet last September. I enjoyed it enough I rode it again. DD9 and DD13 did every slide at Blizzard Beach with the "old man" (DD9 did skip Summit Plummet, but DD13 tried it). I was 44 years, 7 months old at the time.

    DD's Surprise 8th Birthday Trip

For younger ones (and the young at heart), I don't think any park can beat MK. We celebrated my DD's 9th birthday at MK last September. Get her a shirt that says "its my 8th birthday" on it. Try to get reservations to CRT for 8am. That way you get to enter the park before it is open and...

Family's of 5...Where do you stay?

My DW and I have three girls. We stayed at POR on our first stay inside WDW. As long as at least two of your kids don't mind sleeping in a double bed (my girls do it at home a lot despite having separate rooms :) ) it is fine and the least expensive option. We reserved two rooms at POP...

    DisneyQuest attractions/reviews

Hogfan hit the highlights: Cyberspace - build your own rollercoaster and then ride it. Your youngest might not be tall enough to ride. POTC - very fun virtual reality game than everyone can play. River Rapids - I don't know the exact name, but you ride in a rubber raft that you paddle...

    Lion King or Nemo

Finding Nemo is new, so it is likely to have the longer lines for some time to come. We showed up about 30 minutes prior to Nemo's show time and barely made it in the theater as one of last few people to sit in the bleachers in the very back of the theater. This was in mid-January on a very...

What do YOU do on the day you arrive??

If we arrive before noon, we quickly check our bags at the hotel (assuming the room is not ready) and head to Epcot. Epcot handles afternoon crowds the best and stays open late. If arrive around mid-afternoon, we might do DTD instead. DW favors shopping, but I and the girls favor DQ. If...

    Jungle Cruise aka Improv Comedy?!

My family was on the JC one time when the ride was halted for about 5 to 8 minutes just short of the dock due to some unknown problem. The captain ran off a steady stream of one liners and short jokes the entire time we were waiting. Some were corny, but most were very funny. He even asked...

Autographs and Trading pins...does it ever become too much?

During one of our trips, all three of my daughters bought a trader lanyard that comes with a few pins to trade. After trading those pins for ones they really wanted, they were hooked. On our next trip, I bought 100 pins on eBay for my three girls and three other girls that traveled with us to...

    Is Coral Reef worth it?

We went to Coral Reef in Jan 07. Nice atmosphere, good food. Overall an excellent experience. However, it was the most expensive meal we ate ($280 for 5 - DH, DW, DD15, DD13 & DD9). If I had not been on the dining plan, I would have choked on the price  I believe there are three...

    Split stay with 2 resorts!

Our upcoming trip in Dec will be the first time to do a split stay within Disney property. We have spent the first night at an offsite property and then transfered to a Disney hotel for the remainder of the stay. We have also switched from a Disney hotel to a Universal Studios hotel before...

    World Showcase Entertainment

They are all good entertainers, so it depends on what you are looking for. Chinese acrobats are probably more amazing than Serveur Amusant, but the setting in France is quieter and you can get right up close as he does his balancing act. World Showcase Players are very funny telling the...

    Cheating on Rides

Ride height requirements are "safety guidelines" that have been set to insure that almost nothing can happen to any rider who meets or exceeds that limit. Given the legal environment in the US, I'm sure the limit is set well above the actual point at which someone would be at risk of falling...

    value resort adjoining rooms

We had 11 in our party on our last trip. We asked for two connecting rooms with the third adjoining and they accomodated us without any problems. As someone already mentioned, connecting is best if you want to be able to easily move between rooms or use one key to access both rooms (as long as...

    Drive to the parks

We prefer driving to the parks unless we are staying at a monorail hotel and visiting MK or Epcot. If you go early in the morning, you park so close that you don't need the trams. If you park hop in the late afternoon you can usually find a spot up close as well.
