We stayed in Marietta this summer right near Truist Park on the way home for a Braves game. Was only for a couple nights but was a quiet area with plenty of restaurants and a Target. If we went that way again we'd definitely stay in the area again.

Just North of Charlotte NC is a great place. There is a nice Best Western there with many restaurants around it. But for the life of me I can't remember the name of the city, it is about 20 minutes north of Charlotte.

Hi, I'm not sure if you are interested in camping but.. Nova Scotia has some beautiful provincial campgrounds. You might want to look into those as well and do a few nights at one of them. Halifax is also a great city, you should check it out while you are in NS.

You can walk around the dock but will have to pay before you board the boat. When we did our cruise we were picked up at the Poly and the dock had 5 boats in it that were all decorated, all but one took off to other resorts. So you may be able to wait around and watch the boat come in, I think...

The haunted houses aren't that great and they have really long lines. The haunted forest walk by the river rapids is supposed to be really good though. And I would purchase tickets over the internet, no waiting in line. I'm not even sure if you can buy tickets at the gate this year.
