    Fastpass lines longer?

FastPass lines are long if the ride goes down during the day. All the FastPasses not used during downtime can be used any time in the day. This is especially bad for a ride like RSR where all the FPs are gone early. One day I was in the park RSR was down a couple times in the afternoon, and...

    Closures list 12-01 Whoa Nellie

It's a big list, because it includes the entire pier. Food, shops, entertainment. The attractions list isn't as bad.

2 Day Park Hopper or More Days?

It depends on age ranges of your group and what you want to do. I've done with 2 adults and 2 dys is enough. I've gone with 3 adults, 10 y/o, 6 y/o and 1y/o where 5 days is not enough.

First Thing You Do/Ride in Each Park?

I leave Pirates, and the other "long ride-time" rides until after I have done the shorter ride-time rides. Let's say park opened at 8. Space 0 wait + 10 min ride(from group to walking out the exit), Matterhorn 5 min wait + 5 min ride, Indy 5 min wait and 10 min ride(movie + up-over + group +...

First Thing You Do/Ride in Each Park?

At the Carthy Circle, make the left into Hollywood land. On the right side of the street (side with Playhouse Disney/Animation) is the line for Fast Passes (if not using MaxPass). On the left, (with Award Wieners and shops) is the line for stand-by. RSR is more popular later in the day, and...

First Thing You Do/Ride in Each Park?

Guardians is TOP priority. It is where about 3/4 people head first. It will have the longest stand-by soonest, and its FPs go the fastest. When people start getting let in for rope drop, most head for Guardians lines on Hollywood entrance. Cast members will be directing you to left curb for...

First Thing You Do/Ride in Each Park?

Disneyland: 1) Get FP to Space Mt 2) Space Mt 3) Matterhorn (2x if both sides are open) 3a) get Fantasmic FP (before or after Matterhorn depending how crowded the rope drop was) 4) Indy 4a) Get Indy FP (get FP before or after Indy depending on time) 5) Thunder Mt. 6) Jungle Cruise or if Sept-Dec...

    Is BBB worth it?

Did it with my granddaughter last month. She's 5. I have annual pass, so with 20% off, $200 was only $160. The dress, crown, wand, etc would be $100. They do pictures inside the BBB, which are included. Hair, makeup, extras, and shortcut was worth $60... once. Yeah, it was worth it once.

Can we use Rider Swap for 7 year old tall enough for Guardians?

We did it last month with 5 y/o that was tall enough to ride. They made us do "at the elevator" swap. Half the party rode while the other half waited in grouping area. Then, child was swapped in hallway after first half came off, as second half of party was loading.

$1 offer back on popcorn refills?

Good luck actually getting a refil in DCA. I was there couple weeks ago, and every DCA popcorn location was selling the oogie boogie bucket, so had a 30-45 min wait.

    June, July or August 2018?

Hmmm.... Looking at 2018 blockout calendar, seems the SoCal passes can go all of June. CRUD!!!! Used to be just first 2 weeks. :( Guess there is no good time to go anymore. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/blockout-dates/ It sooooooo sucks when locals are out of school, but So...

    June, July or August 2018?

THIS! Late June, after So Cal and So Cal Select block-out starts is the BEST! Not too crowded. Warm but not too hot. Everything is open. Park hours are long. Fireworks, night time shows (Fantasmic, World of Color) every night and parades every day.

Need must do ideas and tactics for a very quick trip & yes it's my first to Disneyland!

From 4-7 at DCA, you are not going to be able to get a lot done. You could do Tower (1.5 hours standby) and Radiator Springs Racers (1.5 hours standby) and that's it. OR, skip Tower, do RSR single rider (30-45 mins), Mater's (20-30 mins), Rollikin Roadsters (30 mins), Screamin' (20-30 mins with...

    Crowds Last week in Aug

Lifting the soCal Ap blockout causes huge crowds, and is not an indication of lower crowds.

Seems like new fastpass rides aren't a good thing

DCA had a lack of FP rides that the small children could ride. If you went with a 3Y/O, and didn't want to child swap, you couldn't get FP to anything. Adding FP to Toy Story gives those people something to get FP for. So, many of those FPs are going to people that didn't get FPs before. I...

Seems like new fastpass rides aren't a good thing

FastPass was intended to get people out of lines and into stores and restaurants. Theme Park commandos (I am one and work all the tricks), use the system to get more rides rather than free up time spent in lines for shopping and dining as was intended. The down side of that is, since it...

Seems like new fastpass rides aren't a good thing

This is a microcosm of something I have seen over and over in places I have lived. I grew up in California, where people complained about over crowding... Welcome to California, now go home. I lived in Hawaii where they literally tried to pass a law saying you could not buy a house unless...

Use magic morning pass or avoid it and go to DCA?

    1) It depends on how crowded the day is expected to be. Really crowded days, everyone goes to Magic Morning, and you can spend most of that extra hour just trying to get into the park. On days that won't be "that bad", then people sleep in and MM can be great. 2) You don't have to decide until...

Seems like new fastpass rides aren't a good thing

There is a "share" that makes it worth it to people to return. If the theme park commandos are riding 40 rides a day, and that means the casual guests only get to ride 5, then those casual guests won't return. So, Disney brings us down to 30 (which is enough to keep us coming back), so the...
