    Mystic Dunes??? anyone been there?

I read that trip report odyssey - After reading the first post I realized I have nothing in common with that kind of person, so I took a chance on Mystic Dunes. The place is great, and you can find incredible deals right now.

"Strip" area of Orlando......(and keep your mind out of the gutter! lol)

If you want to venture offsite for awhile, I would echo swilshire's comment about the traffic on I-Drive, although to be honest you should probably brave it once just for the experience. Most of it is really lowbrow touristy, but in a harmless fun way. State Road 192 heading into Kissimmee is...

What is your Disney shameful secret?

    1) I have a serious crush on Maleficent. 2) When Space Mountain opened when I was a child, I made my mother stand in line with me for an hour, and by the time we got to the front I was so unnerved by the darkness and screaming and warning signs I chickened out. 3) I can still sing the...

    5/13 Disney Wonder -- Day 2

Day 2: Awoke to find my wife had gotten up early to run the treadmill in the gym. DDs 7 and 3 were up at 7:00 a.m. bouncing off the cabin walls ready for the day. I took them up to Beach Blanket Bingo for breakfast. We absolutely loved the spread up here. Don’t know where DCL gets their...

    5/13 Wonder -- Day 1

I just completed the Day 2 installment -- separate thread.

13-17th May Cruise review, Day one.

SkyW: I just posted a day 1 report from the same cruise -- it will be interesting contrasting your experience with ours. At first glance, we agree with you entirely about the dining room food being inferior to the rest of the ship's offerings, although at our table we were finished within 75...

    5/13 Wonder -- Day 1

My family (wife and DDs 3 and 7) took our 2nd Disney cruise on the Wonder on Mother’s Day (interestingly, our first DCL cruise was a Mother’s Day sailing as well.) I enjoy reading trip reports, so I thought I’d reciprocate. Background – we live on Florida’s west coast, love Disney, but I...

    Wonder's ship-to-shore telephone #?

Can't seem to locate the Wonder's ship-to-shore number which I'd like to leave relatives in the event of an emergency. Our docs aren't handy at the moment -- can anyone help?

DCL Executive Email & mailing address's

ROFL! (Disclaimer -- I am not actually rolling on the floor laughing. It's just hyperbole, like the post you were referring to. ;) )

    things to do at MCO?

MCO is a very user-friendly airport, with a number of nice restaurants, a hotel adjoining a beautiful atrium, gift shops of all kinds, etc. I don't think you'll have a problem finding things to do for a couple of hours.

    Dining Waitlist ?

We just booked for 5/13 a week ago today (last-minute Florida discount). I just found out today that we have been moved to the earlier main dinner seating after being waitlisted since last week. From what I understand, it's very rare that they cannot accommodate a change to your preference...

    The next time!!!

This didn't bug me, in that it wasn't a personal inconvenience to us, but it was disturbing. We sat down to dinner on our second night on the Wonder and noticed that a younger child (5 years old, maybe) was missing from another family's party. In friendly conversation, we learned that the child...

anyone have to use their Travel Insurance for healt reasons?

We had to cancel a cruise a few years ago -- my wife was pregnant (late first trimester) and for some reason I can no longer recall the OB advised agaisnst a cruise. Can't remember the company we had insurance with, but I don't think it was travelguard. We had to fill out a lengthy claim form...

    late boarding disadvantages?

My feeling is that if I'm paying for the privilege of sailing on such a great ship, I want to maximize the time I have available to enjoy it. If you had any on-line issues with scheduling amenities like shore excursions, Palo reservations, spa treatments, etc., or if you need to try to change...

Our Daughter is a DCL castmember!!!

We'll be on the Wonder next week, and I'll have my DDs 3 and 7 give the hugs for you. My guess is that Katrina might be a bit startled if I did, and my wife might have a few questions as well. . . . ;)

So how much do Room Hosts make?

I believe you, but it also sounds like there are an awful lot of people who are intentionally selective with their reading habits. My guess is that most of the people in the "gee, I just didn't know the gratuity wasn't included" category probably have their Navigators memorized by the time...

So how much do Room Hosts make?

I dunno -- that would certainly shock me. I can't imagine that looking at a boatload of Disney cruise guests, 4 out of 10 of them stiff the room host. Are you that certain your host wasn't playing his violin just a bit for you?

    Convince us to cruise Disney-style!

We have two young children, and after cruising on Carnival then on Disney, I doubt we'll ever cruise on anything except DCL again until our children are much older. Not that we didn't enjoy the Carnival cruise, but the Disney experience was much more organized, relaxing, and detail-oriented...

best time of year for cruise weather wise and price wise

Actually, I think right now is a perfect time to go. The water has warmed up, but it's before hurricane season. The seas and weather are generally calm, and the rates are reasonable because schools are still in session. If you're planning that far ahead, you should be able to work things out...
