    Hurricane Irma?

Going (way) back to the point about people being confused why overseas visitors may not have been prepared: we have 75mph winds forecast for today and it's not headline news. The weatherman just said some trees might come down so be careful and that was it. That's one of the reasons many Brits...

    Hurricane Irma?

Thanks for this insight. I'm surprised they are allowed given how passionately the governor talked about evacuations. But then I guess news is news..!

    Hurricane Irma?

I always wonder how they keep all these journalists out in such awful conditions when there are mandatory evacuations and curfews in place.

    Hurricane Irma?

The hurricane was only reported on British news from about Thursday onwards after hitting the Carribbean. I'm the only person actively following it from my friends and family because of my affinity for Disney, but most people over here would have no idea about it. As I said previously, it's very...

    Hurricane Irma?

UK guests probably wouldn't know there was a hurricane heading in, even if they'd only been there a few days. We arrived as Charley was heading in on our first trip and the first we heard of it was when we were leaving on one of the last flights out before the weather got worse. Also UK weather...

2014/2015 Beach and Yacht Club FAQ, Friends & Fun, Sept 2014-Mayl 2015

We are booked in on August 29th-September 8th this year for our honeymoon! This will be my first trip to the YC and I've always wanted to stay there, primarily due to it's proximity to Epcot and the Studios. I never spend much time at the pool but maybe Stormalong Bay will make me...

To dine or not to dine!?

Thanks for the help all. We have decided on YC with no dining, and will book whatever we can. We're flexible about eating times so not too concerned about the 180 day mark looming. We got engaged just after eating at Be Our Guest last summer and celebrated with drinks and food at CG the...

To dine or not to dine!?

Thanks Kath, we are staying all inclusive in Playa del Carmen so will definitely be eating a lot there. I'm thinking it may work out to be roughly the same but we would be paying more upfront id we go with the DDP whereas we won't need to save quite as much early on if we go with the YC.

To dine or not to dine!?

We are off on our honeymoon in August/September, spending 10 nights in Disney and 6 nights in Mexico. We've booked our Mexico hotel and all flights but are still torn on what to do Disney-wise. We're currently considering Coronado Springs with 14 day tickets and regular DDP with WDTC or Yacht...

    AKL, WLR or YCR?

Out wedding is August 26th so will likely be flying between 29th and 31st August. We're planning on 10 days in Disney and then a few days in Mexico before flying home :) I think we're set on YC now because of it's location but I've always wanted to stay at WL so it's been a tough choice! We...

    2015 honeymoons!

My fiancé and I are getting married next August and planning 10 days in Disney and 5 days in Mexico or Hawaii afterwards. We would love to go to Hawaii but it's a lot more practical to go to Mexico considering the long flight from the UK. We are currently deciding between the Yacht Club and the...

Anyone go to Disney Just Once?

Our first trip was in 2004 and was supposed to be a one time only trip too. Travelling from the UK for a family of 6 adults staying at a deluxe resort cost more money than you could imagine but we thought it was the only time and we had to do it in style! As soon as we came back we started...

Tips for getting Engaged @ MK

My fiancé (still getting used to that!) proposed to me two weeks ago today at the Wishing Well by the castle around half an hour before park closing. There was no one around when he did it and only a few people walking by after so it was really intimate :) He asked me to make a wish then got...

Last minute dilemma - please help

I was in this position last January with work and I say definitely go to MK! I was out until late the night before for our party, and due at the airport at 4pm the next day but that didn't stop us. It was my partner's first time to Orlando so I really wanted him to see some of the parks. We...

I've searched availability from 3rd-17th for our trip and had no luck with any time slots. I checked from 30 days out and have checked every few days.

    BOG Lunch FP

It's the 12 digit reservation number, not the alphanumeric one that appears on MDE. If you don't have it already, hover your mouse over the online check-in button on MDE and your 12 digit number appears as part of the link at the bottom of your screen.

new blog: Magical Express Age Limit Changes: A Parent's & Teacher's Perspective

I can't imagine that this affects a great amount of people. Under what circumstances would a 12 year old be transferring solo? For what it's worth I agree with the PP. Some children would be mature enough and their parents would surely know them best.
