I'm worried I may not be happy with the GF.

You will *love* the GF. We stayed there twice with our children. In 1998 and 2000. And they are only 6 and 9 NOW!!! We will be returning there next year also. They have wonderful activities for kids. My girls did the Pirate's Cruise. They also have other kids activities. You cannot...

    A VERY Nosy Budget Question!!

This year I went back to work part-time. The money I make goes for vacation and school tuition. Our total household income is about $95k. Our trip this year cost $3,500, which was scaled back because we had APs, and only stayed 6 nights at the Contemporary. Our two previous trips ('00...

    Ask, just ask!!

I've read alot of "newbie" questions here on this wonderful site. A lot of which sound overwhelmed and confused. Here is my tip to you: When you are at the world and are not sure about something - just ask a CM. I do it all the time. Sometimes I can't remember how to get somewhere, what a...

Thanks. Last year the bus from the GF did not go directly to TL until the afternoon. I'm assuming the same will be true this year from the Poly. Of course, I'll ask a CM. Anna

Anyone recently used AP at WDW to get discount anywhere, i.e. restaurants, etc?

I do know that when I get to WDW to ask for my AP "holder" (it's a little sleeve to put your AP's in). I believe CRO told me that any discounts will be listed on that holder. WE are going in early May so I may not get my mickey monitor by then. Anna

Anyone recently used AP at WDW to get discount anywhere, i.e. restaurants, etc?

Last year I was able to use my AP for discounts at restaurants, I believe the GF Cafe and Tusker House (if I'm not confusing it with DC). Anyone have any luck with discounts using AP? Anna

this is what dd remembers of last wdw trip ~ cute ºoº

We recently watched our '98 trip. My youngest was only 2 1/2. Boy-o-boy, I forgot how cute she was. I used to get upset when people would say to me "oh, she won't remember it". But there is nothing cuter than a little one hugging a character...or the excitement on their face during a...

How to do WDW on a very limited budget?

Debi, I'm farther north from you and fly out of Newark, but I would call airlines now. I called Continental directly last July for this May 2001 trip. The price was $168.00 roundtrip which I felt was a good price. I don't use the internet for airfares so I can't help you with that one. Anna

    Lovebugs in month of May

When we were there last May, we saw lots of them. Never any swarms, though. We saw them alot on the monorail. The monorail driver told us that they come out in May and September. Your daughter is young, but in my house we watch a show called "Catdog" (which is a character that has a head...

    Best tip for first timers

I have to admit that I was one of those people who hardly prepared on our first trip. Ah, I remember it well. Dumbo, (uncovered at the time and out in the scorching heat), with a horrible wait of 1 hour. I did read Birnbaum's - but it wasn't very helpful to me (and there was no internet in my...

My tip - read trip reports from Mouseplanet.com

I have learned everything I have ever needed to know about WDW right here on this fabulous forum. I read them every day - even if it's only for a few minutes. When I am in the final stages of my trip planning, I always go to Brian Bennett's web site - www.mouseplanet.com. I then find trip...

    Stroller for older kids

I just bought an umbrella stroller for my 8 yr. old DD. I wanted to rent for her if we needed it, but DH said buy it. She really needed it last year, so I'm pretty sure she will need it this year. I only plan on using it at night and esp. at AK. Anna

How much spending money for 7 year old daughter?

I know my kids are really spoiled. My daughter conned me into 10 things at the dollar store this week - I couldn't believe it when I counted them at home. And she had a tantrum in the store when I put my foot down about the feather duster. And she's 5. I think she purposely had the tantrum...
