    Living with the Land re-opens

I highly recommend the "behind the seeds tour" for anyone that like "living with the land". We've been meaning to do it for ages but have never quite got round to it. Finally this last trip we did. I thought it was quite interesting especially as you get the odd peek at stuff you otherwise...

a word of warning if you ever need medical treatment

In August DS was assaulted by tinkerbell and suffered a nasty puncture wound to his thigh. He sat (with the vigor of a teenager) on the tinkerbell key ring that was attached to DW's hand bag. It wasn't until we got back to the hotel that we discovered just how much damage tinkerbell's wing had...

Just back from WDW - Has the food gotten worse or is it just me?

We came back from WDW on the free CS DP at the beginning of the month. We found the range of food available on the CS dining plan a real problem. We were staying at PO FQ but the food court there and at POR didn't seem to have the same level of choice that they did have when we last visited two...

Finding Nemo package at Tusker House

We got fast passes from a cast member giving them out at the central fast pass distribution point, just after park opening. We did the Kali River Rapids twice before wondering down the the Nemo theatre. We were absolutely soaked so the air conditioning was a little harsh. Thought the show...

Any probs with Virgin Hols & Ticket delivery ?

Our tickets in August arrived with the TA on the Saturday before our Friday departure. I suspect this was only because the TA had told VH that we were leaving on the Monday to visit family for a few days before the holiday. I was not impressed with VH performance on this.

    DDP - Dinner Shows

We really enjoyed Hoop de Do when we did it a couple of years ago. DS did it this year again with SIL and BIL. We thought it was really good. Mickey backyard BBQ, we did this 2 years ago on free dining. It was hot and we were tired. The food was mediocre and the music far too loud for us. We...

Sad to see Skyway building pulled down??

I would also have thought that they would be scared of liability issues if people dropped or threw things from the gondolas as they were over the customer accessible areas. We liked it and were sorry to see it closed. We really missed the TTA on our last visit too.

    Urgent advice needed - esta

I recall reading somewhere that the travel authorisation can take up to 72 hours to be processed, that is why the 72 hour recommendation. If yours has cleared already then you should have no problems and are good to go.

    Its about time - SDD

We're doing the SDD (although DS the leader of the dance is away camping with DW) leaving me to do the lonely man's shuffle (with the dogs). :cheer2::cheer2::banana::banana::yay::yay:

4 working days left and still no tickets - VH - update day to go

We travel with VH on Friday 21st. Still no tickets. Booked through an agent, so we're letting them do the legwork. They've called Virgin and told them that the deadline for getting us the tickets is Monday. Surprise surprise they were told that the tickets would be with them Monday morning...

USA SIM cards for mobile phones...

Yes, the prices vary according to stock and special offers. Where I got mine last week I actually got a better deal in a local store (rather than Walmart). :) Chris

USA SIM cards for mobile phones...

The blood that is shed is yours when you try to open the blister pack armed only with a totally unsuitable implement - nail clippers in my case. My hands were cut to pieces by the sharp edges left exposed on the blister pack. Yes, Tracfone (and Net10) are pay as you go. You can top up with...

USA SIM cards for mobile phones...

Yes, they are really easy to do. This is what I did to get my new tracfones up and running: Buy the phone Get the phone out of the packaging, possibly the most challenging bit if you don't have a knife or scissors (there may be blood shed). Charge the phone Switch the phone on Call the...

USA SIM cards for mobile phones...

Go to Walmart, or some other high quality retailer, when you get there and pick up a cheap net10 or Tracfone. Put sufficient credit on it for your trip and then keep it for next time. One word of warning - I've just been through the process of trying to reconnect a couple of Tracfone handsets...

what is allowed to be taken into the US

You can take virtually anything that isn't meat, fruit or dairy. The key thing is to declare it, let them inspect it and they will either confiscate it or let you through. You do your bit and they do theirs. The problems start when you don't declare stuff. We had prunes last time (it's a...

what is allowed to be taken into the US

Don't worry about what you take onto the plane (as long as you abide by the restrictions with respect to liquids and gels). Anything that doesn't get eaten by the time you get to the USA can either be left on the plain or dumped in one of the many bins for such things before you go through the...
