    i-drive

My friend stayed there last year and really liked it. Like the post above says, stay in the tower if you can. She was put in one of the other rooms and didn't like it so got moved to the tower and said it was much better. Good views from upper floors of fireworks at night apparently.

Thread re Maddie McCann on Community Board

Popped over to look at the thread and wished I hadn't - it find it sad and depressing that people are forgetting that a child has been taken away from her family. Where's the compassion? I hope they find her soon, I do think she's still alive and pray she returns to her family where she...

Secondary school admissions AGGGGHHHHHH Updated 28/3

Just realised she took the Kent test! With those results you should definitely appeal. Sophie passed but she took the Medway test which isn't as complicated as yours. However she found the maths incredibly hard and only got 98. Luckily the other scores were ok. I did read somewhere that one...

Hampton Court and Thorpe Park - what are like?

I took Sophie and Emily to Hampton Court last year and they loved it. Sophie was doing a project on Henry VIII which was the reason for our visit. There were booklets they could take around which had fun questions they had to find the answers to around the place and they got to choose a small...

    Bring back the death penalty

This is such an awful situation. I do agree with the death penalty if it is proven, without doubt, the person is guilty. I think these days that is much more likely with forensic advances. I would not want a person wrongly found guilty and executed but I have to say if it were my child I...

    Just to say hello again!

Haven't been around for a while - after our amazing holiday last October it seemed strange reading posts on the forum. We won't be able to go back for quite some time but have some great memories. I've also been under a lot of stress recently - the usual stuff, kids, work, college, ill health...

    Question for Teachers ...

At Emily's school they earn house points for doing jobs, which the teacher hands out - they all volunteer because they have a points raffle each week with someone winning a pack of pencils or other small prize. I don't think I'd be very happy about them getting money. It's not an ethical...

Has anyone used the AMEX trevellers cheque CARD?

We used ours October last with no problems. To keep track we kept all receipts from each day and just totted them up at night. The only problem we had was trying to get a refund on it from Virgin which took two months. However it was Virgin's fault, not Amex who were very helpful.
