If Disney made a Ski resort in the northern USA or Canada, would you make plans to go there in the future?

Skiing is the only thing more expensive than Disney so I'd hate to see how much a Disney ski resort would cost. We do ski and love it, but think Alterra and Epic have the market cornered.

Ever had a paycheck that was SUBSTANTIALLY bigger....... by mistake?

Many years ago I started at a Fortune 500 co (1,000s of EEs) mid-paycycle. My first check was one week's pay and then my second check was three week's pay. Since we were paid bi-weekly I was double paid for that one week. I told the payroll department and they deducted the week on my next check...

Will California Grill Ever Drop the Prix Fixe Menu?

I took my daughters to CG last trip and my 12 year old at the time was able to order off the children's menu. I'm guessing they enforce the ages for the prix fixe, and looking at the menu it would not make sense to spend $90 on kids in the 9-14 year old range unless they had a very adventurous...

Hurricane Idalia Chased Me Away From My Empty Nest Solo Trip...A Few Short Thoughts

Beach Club is identical to YC so you also have to deal with the maze like hallways. On longer stays you get used to it and find shortcuts out, but yes depending on where your room is it can be annoying.

UPDATE My DD lives in Yucca Valley, CA and found this plant growing in her garage

It could indicate a water leak under the house. I would probably call a plumber for peace of mind.

    Attraction closures at Universal?

I think it's pretty common for theme parks to refurbish certain attractions in the offseason. I also thought HHN might impact certain areas of the park like at Knotts.

    Attraction closures at Universal?

I am debating going to USH for a day midweek in September. I'm trying to figure out which attractions will be closed at that time, but I can't figure out on the website how to look - it only tells me nothing is closed today. I want to make sure it's worth it to go.

if you were a billionaire , where would you be living right now?

Since my girls are in the throws of sports and starting high school we wouldn't go too far. But I would also buy a ski house and a beach house.

    Best stress relief resort?

For me it would be Wilderness Lodge - I like the compact size of the resort and the feel of being at a lodge on Bay Lake. I found AKL to far from everything when I did stay there and didn't like not being on water like at the other Deluxe Resorts. For two weeks without a car you'd want the...

Traveling with a 6 year old to WDW in August...

We took a 6 year old in August once without a stroller - I would do it again. She's an athletic kid but we always rope dropped, took a nap/pool break and then went back to the parks for dinner and generally stayed late. There was one evening she and DH stayed at the hotel and I only took our...

    Petco Park Hotel Please

Hilton Bayfront had a bridge directly to the park. My friend was able to use her Government Discount and we got it for $200. Without a discount it was $300. The Padres had day games Sat and Sun so I would bet prices would be higher with a Sat night game.

Woman falls headfirst into outdoor toilet while trying to retrieve phone

We were just in a national park and used one of those toilets - as soon as I saw the pit I said if my phone fell in it was gone!

    My recent experience at DLR

We went yesterday, $600 for 3 PH plus parking. I debated upgrading to one of the lower tier Magic Key passes, but decided against. If they drop the masking, we’ll come back next Christmas-time. Crowds were extremely high - - 60min + for bigger rides. I also really find the masking hard to deal...

    CSI: Vegas is coming back

I loved CSI, but I really didn’t find the Grissom and Sarah relationship believable.

    Eliminate Homeroom

I never had Homeroom. One of our classes was a little longer and they did announcements and took official attendance. My daughter is at a Catholic middle school and she has a Homeroom. From what I understand they treat it as a home base and that’s who they sit with for Mass or Assemblies. They...

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

I had friends there a week or so ago and no one in their Splash Mtn pictures were wearing masks. I’m sure this was impossible for Disney to enforce.

AP reporting Disney plans to relocate 2K professional employees from California to Lake Nona

California loses a lot of companies to high cost of doing business here. Depending on the level of employee they’ll make an attractive offer to move them. Some will accept and some will stay. Happened with Toyota and Nissan and scores of other big companies.

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

Yes and Epcot is very similar. Epcot and HS don’t have that many attractions and HS doesn’t have enough shows that get people away from the attractions. If one of the big rides go down all the waits go up by a lot.

What are you missing? What do you hope and pray comes back to Disney?

Luggage service with DME - that was truly a magical service. Also being able to check in your luggage on the return was wonderful. I know it’s an industry wide issue, but daily housekeeping. I miss buffets of course but this trip I noticed menus were so limited. Especially when mobile ordering...
