    Answer to Petes question.

For me, nothing can beat rides! I would love to experience a Disney cruise eventually but Tower of Terror and Expedition Everest still have my heart and $$$$.

Is Chapek on the verge of being fired?

Just listened to the "The Business with Kim Masters" podcast-little mention of Disney and the lack of creative backgrounds on the parts of Susan Arnold and Bob Chapek- brief mention but they were a bit critical but cautious in the mention.

D.O.C.'s = Dis'ers of Color (Disney Fans of Color)

I haven't had a chance to check in here in a bit so I wanted to say hi to all and wish everyone a PEACEFUL holiday season and/or next few months. I've been going through my Disney trip withdrawal/depression since we returned in July (literally the week the Delta Variant hit like gangbusters!)...

Yes! Just watched this as well and was pleasantly surprised. Very fun and enjoyable. My mom and I watched together (after I held the remote hostage and refused to let her watch ANOTHER Hallmark xmas movie!) so I think it's a great movie for adults as well as kids.

Hey all, love coming back to see whatever updates, news and discussions that everyone shares. I haven't had a chance to really get on the message board lately but I came across this article in my google alerts and wanted to quickly share. pixar soul- Disney Pixar's first black protagonist.

Haha!! The only Jessica/Disney connection I'm aware of is her not making it through the auditions for The All-New Micky Mouse Club-she auditioned alongside Britney, Justin and Christina.

I completely understand. Beyonce is certainly not the only Black/POC artist that I think of as problematic (for me). I mention her because of the Black is King piece and its Disney connection. My issue with Jay-Z was his statement about how we are past kneeling (paraphrased). I understand...

Yeah, I had some issues with his involvement with the NFL and his wording of the reasons why.

definitely understandable. I should make it clear that I was referencing Beyoncé as I usually view her as a performer her, not this piece in particular. Again, this is all strictly my personal thoughts. There are so many takes on Beyoncé, critiques that articulate much better than I can off the...

I have to preface this with saying that this is all my thoughts in progress, these are topics I think about on a daily basis and my opinions and feelings do change and I’m only speaking for myself. My problems with Beyoncé really reside with the subjects of aesthetics. Very long story short, I...

I have to admit, I teared up a bit at Brown-Skin Girl. I've heard the song before, but seeing Lupita and Kelly and Naomi along with the lyrics really resonated. Overall, I enjoyed the visuals and music-I loved the choreography. I'm not usually the biggest Beyonce fan ( I find her a bit...

I haven't had a chance to really find out more about it. I think I've seen some advertisements but I'm still not sure what it is exactly?? Looks beautiful from the glimpses though! I really need to step up my Disney game, I'm so slacking!

From your (great) list I think REC is one that I have been meaning to watch-all I know is that it is a found-footage film and I think in my head I was confusing that title with VCR. Adding Suspiria because can’t go wrong with the double praise (as seen below). And shockingly I got time, may as...

Hey @AKL Ranger, I apologize for not responding earlier, I'm still getting used to actually actively participating in a forum! :) I definitely believe that when I have brought up BLM and the protests and the killings with white friends, some are uncomfortable. I've been having difficult...

A quick aside about seeing/not seeing color. One thing that always leaves me feeling extremely uncomfortable is when I’m with a group of white friends and one of them is trying to describe someone and the person in question is the only black person in a particular group. Usually when relating an...

Dis Unplugged 6/9/20 - A question about the black experience at Walt Disney World

I have to add my thanks, @AKL Ranger, for your sharing. I second @kylenne in that while I'm shocked at what you were put through, I'm hardly surprised. What I always liked about Disney is the focus on the customer's experience and enjoyment (and I've worked retail and I DO NOT believe the...

Dis Unplugged 6/9/20 - A question about the black experience at Walt Disney World

Thanks for the head's up. I wanted to read about the reaction but I don't have the energy nor the temperament at the moment to tackle that. My take on all attractions: I love Disney but I've never been so attached to an attraction that I've gotten angry if the theming has been changed. Maybe...
