    A Whole New World, A Whole New Life! -- A Jan-Feb-Mar 2015 TR -- *COMPLETED* 9/29

Love this trip report!!! Can I ask a question? How did you know what days Scoop would be in MK. He never seems to be working on the days I am there. Thanks.

Peter Pan is the Villain, Hook the Hero!!!

Wow, I wrote that over 6 years ago. Wonder how it landed on your screen? Since Disney raised the price of an annual pass through the roof, I haven't been in a very "Disney" frame of mind. Told the family our next trip (using APs bought before the price surge) will be our last for a long...

Any Husbands here do all the planning?

I do all, and I mean all, the planning as well. But without fail, 3 days before we leave, my wife turns to me while packing the kids' suitcase and says, "I have so much packing to do. All of this vacation stuff is stressing me out."

    Discovery Cove Snorkeling Question

You can bring your own. My kids brought theirs last year, and will do so again this year.

    Congrats to Magic Kingdom!!

I love, love, love MK. That being said, Discovery Cove does have it beat. I have 13 days in the parks scheduled in 3 weeks, but I am most excited about my 2nd trip to DC in the middle of my Disney vacation. DC is just incredible!!!

Do they offer a special for DC if you are passholders

Beware, passmember prices do change. Last week my date of August 20th, was $169 for the dolphin swim. I called today to book (had to wait a week to get a firm commitment from everyone) and now its $199 a person. UGH!!! I booked it anyway, but now I am kicking myself for not getting it done...

Do you negotiate the rate of house/villa/condo rental?

Always negotiate. I have rented homes every year for the past 7 years, and I always haggle a bit. My tips: 1. When you first contact the owner, compliment the house but say you have a budget and need to stick to it. Some people (like some of the posters) might get offended that you are...

Sun, Shopping, Sand, Surf, Sweat & Shamu: A Splashin Summertime Sabbatical at SVR!

A conversation I overheard between two Seaworld employees: Employee 1 - Look over there, is that Gina? Employee 2- I think so. Isn’t she that very influential Disboard blogger. Employee 1 – Yeah, we better treat her right. I heard when she was at Aquatica they gave her an extra 30...

Sun, Shopping, Sand, Surf, Sweat & Shamu: A Splashin Summertime Sabbatical at SVR!

At first, I had visions of Steve wrestling with this man from England, in the water, over the buoy. That would have made for some interesting pictures. I commend you on your composure. Most people would have made a scene. I hope you were rewarded for the way you handled it.

Where to go if it storms while in DC?

When the thunder rolled in, we took shelter by some lockers, with A LOT of other people. When there was a break in the rain, I headed back to the cabana. Then the thunder picked up again, and we were advised we should not stay in the cabana because it is framed in metal. It was pouring, so I...

    My DC review

Here’s my review of Discovery Cove. I really enjoyed the day, and would do it again, but there were some hiccups, and hopefully this will help you avoid them. We pulled into the lot for DC at 7:10 and the place was already full of people registering. I was really surprised. The...

    Wind-Away River for so-so swimmers

Gina A little off topic, but you seem to be the resident expert on Discovery Cove. I'm breaking the bank to go there, and want to do it right. Do you have any advice on how to plan the day? We are early risers and will be there well before the park opens. Any suggestions as to the...

    Wind-Away River for so-so swimmers

Thanks so much for your response. The writer said she saw 2 rescues, by lifeguards, as a result of the waterfalls. I'm guessing the person was being a little dramatic.

    Wind-Away River for so-so swimmers

So I just booked DC for the end of July. First time going to DC and we are all very excited. My two boys are not great swimmers. I read a review of Wind-Away River that described it as an intense lazy river. The description talked of 2powerful waterfalls where lifeguards had to make rescues...

Disappointed in Festival of Fantasy Parade - no Grand Marshal car

One of the most magical days I have ever experienced, occurred because of the afternoon parade at MK. While walking into the MK, my kids started to pin trade with a cast member named Dean. We struck up a conversation, and after a minute or two, Dean motioned for us to follow him. When we got...
