Suggestions for WL with Autistic 6 year old

We haven't stayed at the WL, but I have an 8 yr old son with autism. He loves Disney, but I do understand the challenges as well. We've learned to always let him have a reasonable amount of his comfort items with him (learned this the hard way!). He is allowed to pack his suitcase (regular...

In-room sitters for 5hrs - boring the kids?

I don't know if they are still around, but we've used Fairy Godmothers several times in the past for our son who has autism. He can only do one on one care, group activities are a definite no-go for him. Fairy Godmothers, at least back when we used to use them, are older women, all mothers or...

    Will they make changes??

Just wanted to note I have a similar situation. We booked a savannah room at AKL for Dec 13-19. I used the military discount and was only given the bunk beds as a choice which I took. Later realized that DS might not sleep in the bunk and called to see if I could change--Disney site as well...

    Pooh Show?

Thank you Iain, that is good news. Hopefully it will happen. I won't tell my son about it until they list it on the show schedule for December (just in case). I think he'll enjoy the Mickey Christmas show as well.

    Pooh Show?

We're Americans living in Europe for a very short time, so DH thinks there are so many more places we should see while we're here than Disney (silly man). I'll probably get one more DLP trip out of him since DS loves Disney so much. The organized Pooh character meet sounds...

    Pooh Show?

We are going to DLP for the first time from Dec 26-29th. My son, age 6 with autism, adores Pooh and all things Pooh. Does anyone know if they might do the Pooh show this year? It's not listed at all (even the regular Pooh show he'd love, but I don't see anything about it on the dlp site)...

    Universal Kids Free Tickets???

I am certainly no expert, and I'm sure you'll get an answer. But, I bought the same deal and I thought somewhere it said you could only get the will-call option?

Checking into RPH before getting AP

I think this has been covered before, but just wanted to double check if this was ok. I have an AP rate at RPH and plan to check in first thing in the morning to get our FOTL passes. I plan to then head to US to get our tickets & my AP. Will this be ok? I do have a receipt for the AP which I...

    Stroller description?

Can anyone tell me what the strollers for rent are like at Universal? We are taking our first trip there next week. Are they like the Disney strollers? I have a bag that fits perfectly on the back of those kind, but want to make sure it will attach before I lug it. Is stroller rental...

    Credit question

Absolutely! They are yours and you paid for them. I mis-read her post, I see what she meant now. Have a great time, you'll love the dining plan, we did. :cool1:

    Credit question

You can't save the dining credits for a future trip. They are directly tied into your nights at the hotel and wouldn't be good after midnight on the day you check out.

    What's your date & rate for 2006?

RPH Standard May 11-13 129 for the 11th, 149 for the 12th. I was THRILLED to get this rate, and even moved my trip to 2 months later (from March to May). APH rate (worth buying the AP for!) First trip to US/IOA :cool1:

ANY SUCH THING AS A "QUIET" RESORT?

Shades of Green is VERY quiet. Of course you have to qualify to stay there, but it is the quietest of any of the Disney places we have stayed. I thought POR was fairly peaceful...

    Pop Century - prefered section

We were just there in the 50s section. There are some awesome preferred locations, BUT some of them are further than the closer 50s or 70s buildings. If I paid extra and was in one of the further 60s buildings I think I would have been upset. Pop is in general not spread out and no room...

Just Back from POP Century (very long review)

Pop Century Review Cast: Me (35), DH (33) and DS (4) who has Autism: we have always stayed at Moderates or Shades of Green. I should also say we are fairly easy to please and were determined to enjoy every minute of our vacation. We don't let little things bother us. We stayed at Pop...

Already passed it on (PM'd Suz), but it would be great to see a regular coffee pot swap happen at the Values. :flower:

Coffeemaker available at POP on Dec 18th

I'm bringing a cheap 4 cup coffee maker with reusable filter to Pop with me. I plan to leave it in the room, but if anyone wants it let me know. We'll be checking out on Sunday, Dec 18th (I'd also be willing to part with it the Saturday prior).
