    5K in February?

Unfortunately, we are just able to make a quick trip (Fri AM until Mon. PM), so we need to stick close to Disney. But, I'll check out those sites. Thanks!

    5K in February?

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum, but it looks like I've found the right place! DH and I are celebrating "big" birthdays next winter/spring and thought it would be fun to celebrate by running a 5K at Disney together. We would really like to go sometime in early February, but as far as I...

13th bday dinner - which restaurant?!

Looks like a neat place, but DD and I will be on the DDP. My DS7 would absolutely LOVE those dinosaurs though, so we'll have to check it out sometime when he is with us!

13th bday dinner - which restaurant?!

Kona is another good option! How am I going to decide!:confused3 I think I am going to have to find a way to ask her some questions without making her suspicious.

13th bday dinner - which restaurant?!

Hmmmm.... That's interesting. I may have to find a way to see how she would feel about a princess meal if it also involves a PRINCE! I've heard they do nice bday celebrations at those restaurants too. Of course, it may depend on the day - one day she would probably be way too cool to eat...

13th bday dinner - which restaurant?!

Yes, it's cool, and she definitely loves the food there. She's been to several of them before though, so I think I want to try something different. Thanks though!:thumbsup2

13th bday dinner - which restaurant?!

You are SO right about the texting! :rotfl: I had been debating about Coral Reef, and if there is no diver (I have read the same thing about '09), that will make that decision easy. Looking at menus for Teppan Edo or Marrakesh, I don't think she would be pleased due to the "weird" things...

13th bday dinner - which restaurant?!

I'm planning a surprise mother-daughter trip for my DD's 13th bday in February. Anyone have any thoughts on a great place for a brand new teenager to celebrate her birthday :cake: (obviously, we are beyond princesses these days!)? I've been thinking of doing Le Cellier, b/c we'll be in Epcot...

Need new car asap - help me decide...

We have an 06 Odyssey and before this, we owned 2 Toyota Siennas. We LOVED the Toyotas, but when it came time to get a new car, Toyota just wasn't offering the same value for the money that the Odyssey was, so we made the switch to Honda. I now love the Odyssey too, but I have to say that the...

How does your school supply list compare?

That list is pretty similar to what ours is each year (oldest DD and DS are going into 7th) - minus the construction paper packs and the reem of paper. The school at least provides that, however, they charge us a "consumables" fee of anywhere from $25-$50/child to cover the cost! Coming from...

How do I make packing her lunch cooler?

I just want to caution you on the lunch bag thing - I also have a DD going into 7th grade, and she did NOT want me to buy her a new lunch bag. It seems that the our neighbor (who is about to be a freshman) warned her that only "nerds" carry anything other than paper lunch bags. Apparently...

    Bare Minerals

I also started using it in March and LOVE it. My skin hasn't been this nice since I was about 10 yrs. old. :) There is a "learning curve" with it, but once you get used to it, it would hard to ever go back to more traditional make-up.

Daughter wanting to set up a website?

I see nothing wrong with just having her own website, with no identifying information. Our DS set up a website dedicated to "cool cars" when he was 11 and that's all there was to it - pix. of cars that he happened to like, with a background he thought was cool too. DH is a computer security...

    TI calculator sales

Our twins are headed to 7th grade, and the letter we got from the school recommends that they get the TI-NSPIRE, and they guarantee we will not need to get another calculator before graduation. I was fortunate enough just tonight to find a private seller on Amazon that listed it new, sealed in...

    Kids parties, no gifts.

IMO, you're not crazy OR mean. But then again, when my kids wanted a bday party this year, I told them that we didn't need any more gifts, and if they wanted to do a party, we could ask for donations to the charities of their choice instead (unfortunately, I can't say that they were...

Booking flights WAY ahead - safe idea?? AirTran

With all the debate about nonstop v. one-stop and cost, etc, I just wanted to clarify - the nonstop is actually the CHEAPEST flight too. Weird, huh? :confused3 I was mainly concerned about what would happen if they were to go out of business. DD will be 13, so having a stop, or having to...

Booking flights WAY ahead - safe idea?? AirTran

That is very helpful :thumbsup2 - my concern was that if I bought the tix. and the company was no longer flying, that we would just lose our $$. From the replies so far, it sounds like at worst, we may end up paying a little more (or if we're lucky like the previous poster, maybe even less!)...

Booking flights WAY ahead - safe idea?? AirTran

Hi! I'm planning a quick trip to WDW in early Feb. for DD and I and was thinking that it may be better to get tix. now, rather than wait, due to rising prices. What do you think? AirTran currently has fantastic prices for nonstop flights, and I came very close to purchasing our tix...

Update 9-11 MCS!...Can we keep it a surprise???? Our June trip to WDW w/ pics

I just had to come out of lurkdom to tell you that I saw you at Target today! I was with DD12 and we walked in right behind you guys. I promise we're not stalkers, I just couldn't figure out why I knew you! I kept trying to remember whether I knew you from church or school or...

Timandlesley’s how to win a dream in 10 days 11/15 NEW PTR UP!! pg. 94 has link!!!

LOVE the report so far! :thumbsup2 The video of Tim was hysterical. :rotfl2: I can see why it was one of the best parts of your trip! I could NOT believe it when I looked at your pix. of the WCC - I looked at the older boy there and thought, "That looks just like DS's good friend from...
