I got dyson ball about 3 weeks ago, and LOVE it! I have been amazed ( and disgusted) by how much dog hair was on my carpet. It's also a lot lighter than my old vacuum, a Hoover, and relatively quiet, for a vacuum. I highly recommend it. Mine is a refurbished one from Woot.
