    Free Dining frustration <tiny vent>

It's not a hard reservation...they aren't saving a table for you. Basically there's a list of people with ADR's and a list of people waiting to be seated. If you show up then your name gets moved from the first list to the second list and they give out tables as they become available. If you...

    Free Dining frustration <tiny vent>

I have an ADR for Coral Reef, but I called at 180 to get it. ;)

    Free Dining frustration <tiny vent>

If you are staying at a WDW resort you can call 180 days from the first day of your trip and make reservations for the next 10 days. That way you don't have to keep calling back to make ADRs. The problem is, the first couple days of your trip it may be tricky to get an ADR b/c your 180 day...

    Free Dining frustration <tiny vent>

Well, it's not false, but it is misleading. It's not like WDW is handing out meals to every Joe Shmoe who strolls past the gate. It's more like "buy this full priced multifaceted package and we'll give you something free." So what you're really getting is a discount on a package. Free dining...

Poor service because of the DDP?

I think that would be a little tacky. It's kind of like saying "I don't think you'll do a good job, so let me bribe you to do better. JMO

Poor service because of the DDP?

No offense, but they should be taxed on it...that's part of their income. Personally, I never carry cash, so if a restaurant doesn't take cc and put tips on it, I don't eat there.

Is there a Policy on Heely's in WDW???

Kids can wear them in lots of public places, like a city park, biking/jogging trail or neighborhood sidewalk. Pretty much anywhere you would expect a child to be wearing skates (since that's what heelys really are). It just comes down to common sense.

What rides do you prefer to skip

The only ride we refuse to go on again is Borin'...pretty much everything else depends on our mood and wait time. Eta...I almost forgot Cinderella's Carousel. As a rule we don't ride carousels at amusement parks b/c we have 6 county owned carousels here we can ride any time for free.

    America's Cheapest Family

I'm impressed by the 5 minute showers. It takes longer than that just to shave my legs. I suppose I could do it faster, but then I'd need a lot more bandaids, so I don't know if I'd be saving any money. ;)

Most frequently asked question at WDW?

What should we do next? By any/all members of a large group crowded around a park map in the middle of the walkway.

OT: Anyone have ideas for a science project about the Susquehanna River?

I'm about a mile from the Susquehanna...it flooded half our town last year! Howdy, river neighbors.

Decline in levels of service and cleanliness

I guess I must spread mediocrity wherever I go, b/c I never waste my time making complaints unless it will directly affect the service I'm getting. To use the pp's example, I'd be concerned with booking my vacation and would want to find the most efficient way to that end, rather than teaching...

Should fee be charged for not cancelling ADR's?

I wouldn't like a fee imposed for ADR's not being cancelled- it seems too restrictive. There have been a few times when we've had to reschedule or cancel (no "N" for me ;) )- but I could think of several circumstances where we might not be able to call and cancel. Especially since dh and I...

Why can't everyone just get along?

I actually have a snowglobe that plays the coke tune...

    Competition for the DIS?

You have a point there. I guess I didn't think of those aspects b/c I never take advantage of them (TA's, shuttle service, discount codes). Overall I'm expecting the official website to be about as useful as the official guidebook- full of pretty pictures and little substance.

OT: Broome County NY? We might be moving...(vestal)

No offense taken, but I did go to elementary/middle school in Newark Valley and transferred to Endicott...it wasn't that big a deal. Also, Vestal has about the same number of students as UE. The schools are very similar except they're on opposite sides of the river and people in Vestal have...

    Competition for the DIS?

I wonder if any negative comments will mysteriously disappear. I wouldn't trust info I got from a site sponsored by disney to be unbiased- if you want the real deal about any product you go to an independent reviewer, not the manufacturer..

OT: Broome County NY? We might be moving...(vestal)

I grew up in Newark Valley, graduated from Endicott high school (across the river from Vestal), married a man who graduated from Vestal, and live in Johnson City (about 10 minutes away) so I know quite a bit about the area ;). Overall, Broome is a great place to live- good schools, nice parks...

Decline in levels of service and cleanliness

Personally, I think this response was realistic. It's the action most likely to get you what you're looking for. Getting angry and complaining to disney doesn't provide any tangible benefits, so most people aren't going to bother with it.
