Any advice on how to avoid the school groups? Going May 9-15 and staying in mod or value. Do some resorts attract more school groups than others?

I am married with older teens, but DH is staying behind to let our youngest DD finish high school in Oklahoma. So I am looking to rent for a year as a single. I just need a comfortable place, in a safe area, with a reasonable commute. I figure that after a year I will be in a better position...

I need to find a place to live in Dallas! I'm starting a new job in September in the Trammell Crow Center near the Dallas Museum of Art. Any suggestions on where I should look? I've heard bad things about Dallas traffic...

Like Chipster, we bought portable snacks (turkey legs, hot dogs, ice cream, whatever) and carried them into the Fantasmic theater about an hour before showtime. We had excellent seats, enjoyed our food, and were entertained by the gathering crowd. Several youth groups were singing and dancing...

I tip when I travel with DH and 2 DDs because we tend to be really messy travelers (eating in the room, etc.) But when I travel with my mom, I never tip because she actually CLEANS THE ROOM before we leave it every morning! I swear, she makes the beds and wipes down the shower and sink...

Does anyone know if a Captain Jack Sparrow character is roaming the parks? We'll be at WDW next week and DD (15) has a serious crush on him! (OK, so do I...)

Some friends of mine have one day to spend in Orlando. They would really like to see both USF and IOA, since they may never get a chance to go back. Will they have to buy a two-day two-park ticket? Yikes, that's a lot of money for one day! :eek:

If I had two days to spend at DLR, I would definitely go for a park hopper, if one is available. We found that DL takes more than one day, while CA takes less than one day.

We stayed at DLH for the first time in June. Our room was on the sixth floor of the Bonita tower. We had a very large, nice room with a bar area that included an actual BAR, a sink, coffee maker, and refrigerator. The refrigerator was not stocked (yea!) so we had no trouble putting our own...

As we were leaving DL at midnight on 6/27, we saw the Electrical Parade through the gates at DCA. I guess they were practicing!

On another thread, KarenT posted that you could get $11 coupons for SeaWorld at VONS supermarkets in San Diego. How about coupons for Magic Mountain or Raging Waters? Around here, you can usually get several dollars off Six Flags over Texas with a Coke can, and Taco Bell and McDonald's often...
