    Two couples at AoA?

Bathroom sharing is a deal-breaker for me, even though we did actually live through that with this same couple on a previous vacation. Some things are only done once ... so the fact the AoA suites have two bathrooms is appealing. I'm still torn because the one thing most advocating against the...

Characters as an Adult - Should I feel bad?

I suspect that lady never had a magical time in her life so there's no way you could have ruined that. Hey, yelling about something probably made her happier than anything else so you were helping her! :P Her poor kid, though ... nothing you could have done short of adopting her on the spot...

    Resort Choice Help

So on the good side, either option is amazing and you won't be sorry. It really does come down to theming, preferences, and budget. Would you really rather have the Victorian theming? Is the idea of watching the monorail zip into your hotel lobby just the coolest thing ever? Would being a bit...

Are there any rides you're not allowed to do solo?

I've soloed most rides and the only one that wasn't ideal was Primeval Whirl. I got put in a car with a teenage couple apparently on their first date. So there they were, all awkward and wanting to be alone and there I was, screaming and trying to avoid sliding into them at every turn. In a...

Characters as an Adult - Should I feel bad?

Obviously you've gotten more than enough positive feedback but thought I'd add my own - last trip I was disbounding as Cindy and so HAD to meet her and it was amazing. The kids in front of me were being pretty normal - they'd walk up, hug her, smile, she'd say something while signing their...

What would be the best deluxe resort to stay at if you're not doing the parks?

AKL if you want to get away and relax and eat waaaaay too much at Boma, Beach Club if you (or your son) loves the pool, and any of the Epcot resorts if you'd spend every night at the Boardwalk. I suspect Saratoga would be good if you'd be over at Disney Springs but I haven't stayed there so...

    Two couples at AoA?

We're in the early stage of planning a trip to WDW with another couple and trying to decide where to stay. We're four adults, no kids, all in our mid-30s. Planning a trip during value season for 5 days/6 nights - 4 days at WDW, 1 at Universal. I'm a WDW vet, they're newbies, and DH has been...

    Kilimanjaro safari fastpass

I would get a cab, no question. The bus itself is still a 10 min commute from park to lodge and you also have to factor getting to the park and waiting for that bus ... and I've never had good luck with that. Cab will save you probably about 45 min to an hour. Money well spent. And...

    Pirates of Caribbean drop

One more thing that might assuage a timid kid - it's just a slide for the boat. It's not even a steep one - more like the baby slides at the playground. If it wasn't dark no one would ever be scared. And DL PitC? SO much better. Though I suspect the 52' is length of the slide itself, not...

Do you think it would have been different? RE: Costa Concordia

For those convinced that people panic in a disaster or that the assistant waiter will save himself first, might I recommend this Times article looking at what people really do in a disaster and profiling several catastrophes, including a sinking ship...

What is it exactly that makes EE and Dinosaur scary for kids?

Robo, that was the best description of dinosaur I've ever read! It's the ONLY ride on property that scares me and the second scariest ride in any Disney park, IMHO. The swinging cars in mickey's fun wheel, DCA, are the only one that beat it in my book. Kids who love dinosaurs might well be...

Rain Forest Room on the Wonder?

Not really. When you get onboard take the spa tour and you'll be able to see the RFR for yourself. If it appeals then go for it, if it doesn't, don't. There's hot tubs at the adult pool and whole they're not RFR quiet, I've always found them to be relaxing.

Overwhelmed and no idea where to start!

^ er, weather IN the 70s, likely hitting 80s not 70 degrees exactly. Throw in jackets too. The nights can get cool. And expect rain at some point.

Overwhelmed and no idea where to start!

You can find some great packing lists over on the tips section of the forum. Though you'll find some lists apparently think you're moving there by the amount packed. :) My own must-pack list is pretty short. - A couple pair of super-comfortable shoes. Switching it up saves your feet. -...

Mommy and Me Trip to WDW -- Which resort?

If you can do a deluxe, any of the MK ones would be amazing and you can't beat the convenience. If you want to do mod level then a royal room at POR gets my vote. I adore that whole resort. Fantastic pool, too. Of course it's all busses there so you have to pack some patience. :) Ok, boat access...

    Dealing with ride fears...

Sounds like a plan. :) Now just in case RnR is down or you're not feeling it, I'd hang with the family for everything up to elevator. IMO 75% of the ride happens outside that box and is worth seeing. Now if someone actually talks you into riding, don't panic. It's not a free-fall and doesn't...

What to do about a child who no longer wants to go!

It may be partly the age, as mentioned - that's about the age my friend's and I became interested in disasters. You know your kid best but I'd err on the side of information delivered calmly. Or look at cruise disasters on Wikipedia. That worked for me. But that obviously could backfire so use...

Sick and Tired of Being Attacked by Strollers

I used to think the stroller-as-battering-ram thing was an overexageration by those trying and failing to dart around the less maneuverable strollers ... And then I went to a local amusement park with a friend of a friend and her SUV sized stroller (and tiny 6mo who prefered to be carried). Oh...

Things to bring when touring the parks

There's few things better than breezing past the bag check line (at least when crowded- it rather looses the thrill when the guards are just standing around bored) so I pack as light as possible. KTTW, a spare credit card and ID, camera, and sun screen. My sunglasses go on my head or in my hand...

Disney should have a better height measurement system...

Just one more point on why CMs will measure even if they remember your child - the people behind you don't know that your kid passed last time, they just see someone the same size as their kid getting waved through. It's far better practice to just have a blanket rule that all children below x...
