    Aircraft (Helicopter?) Near Epcot

You need to go through metal detectors and tight security to get into any park including Disney Springs, but it's ok to fly over a few hundred feet in a helicopter? Doesn't make much sense.

    Aircraft (Helicopter?) Near Epcot

FAA Guide to Low-Flying Aircraft: 91.119 Minimum safe altitudes; general Except when necessary for takeoff or landing, no person may operate an aircraft below the following altitudes: (a) Anywhere – An altitude allowing, if a power unit fails, an emergency landing without undue hazard to persons...

    Saratoga Springs Helicopter noise

I would think a multi billion $$ company like Disney could find some loophole to stop or limit them. If they can’t because of airspace, then use excessive noise for an excuse.

    SSR Grandstand pool closure

When there is a Lifeguard available, they will take you to and from the Grandstand pool to any pool in a golf cart. We did that a few times.

    Saratoga Springs Helicopter noise

At the resort now, there are low flying helicopters everywhere that are annoying! Constant, about every three minutes another one goes by, and it’s not only at Saratoga. Last time we were at Disney which was two years ago, it was maybe one passing every half hour or so. Was thinking about buying...

    Official March 2022 thread!

We will be at Saratoga from March 1 to March 19. Park visits will be at the beginning of our vacation, the week of the 12th we will be just hanging around, pools, resort hopping, or renting a boat, but no parks. Do spring break crowds tend to be just at the parks? Is this a good plan?

SSR Lovers and Owners Part 3

We were just there and were told work would start in April beginning in Congress Park. It will take 2 years to complete. If needed, adjacent buildings would also be closed to control the noise.

Question for DVC Owners whose kids have "grown up" and you go solo

We've been DVC members for almost 20 years, when our daughter got out of college. We started out staying in a 1 bedroom for 1.5 weeks every year, till retirement. The past 2 years, we have only stayed in studios. We can now stay for close to a month at the end of Feb. Loving it, especially nice...

Has Your Trip Ever Been Too Long?

Over the past 20 years, we have been stretching our our stay by a day or two. We are up to 3 weeks in a studio, and hopefully will stay a month next year. SSR and OKW are like staying in a condo, so it's more like a homey feeling. We get a 5 to 7 day pass to Disney parks. We rent a car, so the...

    DVC discount park tickets

We used Undercover Tourist with Mousesavers discount for buy 4 for 5 tickets, and, at the time, American Express had a $20 ticket rebate. Both my wife and I used our individual AE cards so, at the time, it was a better deal than the 5 for 7 deal. We may update the tickets when we get there. Not...

What's the longest you've stayed in a studio?

1 & 2 bedrooms are great. We have enough points for 10 days in a 1 bedroom and have done that for many years. The kitchen was nice, but we never really used it much, and the laundry was nice to have but only used it once per visit. Because we are now retired New Englanders we want to get away...

Is cooking in a studio ok?

We (2 of us) are staying 18 days at SSR in a studio. Never cook in the room. We feel that getting away from washing dishes, cooking, and cleaning up is part of the vacation. We rent a car and many times we eat outside Disney. There are so many choices within 15 minutes. Sweet Tomatoes has a...

MARCH 2017 Car Rental Rate Thread!

So far, for Feb. 27-Mar. 15, Hertz through AAA, $617, National with BJ's coupons and emerald club, went from $800 down to $674. Not sure if it's worth the extra $ to go with National with the emerald isle, or just go with the cheapest. I'll keep checking.

    VROOM VROOM code with Alamo

My advice is to call Alamo with your reservation number and ask them if it's legit and if you will have any problem when you pick up the car. I just did, and all is well. But don't take my word for it, call them!

    VROOM VROOM code with Alamo

If in doubt, call or email. I did an online chat with Vroom Vroom, and they said it is absolutely a good code in the USA. I personally have AMEX extra insurance on my card for $25 per year, along with my personal insurance, so I don't need another insurance. I am going to use the code. The Alamo...

March 2015 Car Rental Rate Watch

Just did an online chat with someone on the VVV site. I told him I live in the US, with a US license, and asked if I can rent from this site or is it for other countries only?. He said "you can definitely book through our site". Unless I could find a better deal before I leave, this is the...

March 2015 Car Rental Rate Watch

Why can't you use vroom vroom vroom with a US license? I got my confirmation from Alamo, and it said nothing about not being able to use it from the US.
