Did your college student study abroad?

My DD studied abroad for 6 weeks in Ireland when she had just turned 19 in 2018, right after her freshman year in college. She loved it! I was extremely nervous about it! She didn't know anyone else that was going and I thought she would be lonely and get there and want to come home. It all went...

Trying to plan a trip for February, would you get refundable airfare?

I ended up purchasing the tickets. It did say they were changeable and I'm fine with that. I also bought the extra insurance at checkout for $25 per ticket. Which does include refunds for Covid reasons and staffing. Kind of regretting that I purchased with all that's going on right now, but...

How can I save money on a rental car?

Is there a place where I can find discount codes for car rentals? Or any other advise on how to save. I'm renting a car for a trip, not Disney though. Thank you!

Trying to plan a trip for February, would you get refundable airfare?

Thanks for all your help! I'm still not sure what I'm doing. I'm leaning toward not paying the extra to make it refundable. The reason I'm leaning toward American Airlines also is because they have a direct flight at decent times. Most of the other airlines had stops.

Trying to plan a trip for February, would you get refundable airfare?

I'm looking at a Main Cabin fare price I believe. So that would mean you could change it to another date with no fees, if for some reason we couldn't go? But I couldn't totally cancel it and get my money back, correct? I'm fine with that, as long as I could reschedule for another time if...

Trying to plan a trip for February, would you get refundable airfare?

Hello! I haven't travelled in such a long time and I've only flown a handful of times anyway! I am hoping to take a trip with my daughter in February to Arizona and California. When looking at airfare, it has the option to make the tickets totally refundable for any reason. I feel with Covid out...

Covid at work-what would you do?

You can test positive for many weeks after. I think I have heard up to 60 days. Two of my DD's roommates were positive back at the end of May. They recovered and after 2 weeks went back to work, normal life, etc. The health department told them the CDC says you are safe to go back out after 10...

How is your employer handling Covid 19?

Thanks for all the input. It's interesting to see how different places are handling this! I guess it varies, but does sound like masks are required in a lot of places.

How is your employer handling Covid 19?

I have been laid off the whole time Covid 19 has been around and before then actually. I did start a part-time job in May with very limited hours. While there working, I wear a face mask the whole time and have to answer questions daily about my health. When I am there, I am by myself or with...

Cases rising or dropping by you?

I think our state in general is staying steady, but I'm concerned about Oshkosh, WI where my daughter lives. The cases have tripled since Memorial Day, mainly in the 20-29 age group. 2 of my daughters roommates and 1 of their boyfriends tested positive, luckily their symptoms were minor and they...

    Are you still getting take-out?

We have just started going through the drive thru and getting curbside delivery again. We didn't through this whole thing until the last week or two. I was very nervous about it. I still don't like going to places that don't wear gloves or masks. Before Coronavirus we would get carryout or eat...

Your favorite dog breed and why...

We had a Springer Spaniel/Golden Retriever mix named Maggie. She was a wonderful dog! I think she had a lot of the Golden Retriever personality but was all black with a few white patches and smaller than a Golden Retriever. She would always follow me around, but would stay put if you told her to...

Think you may have already had Coronavirus?

We still think my DH had it back in February maybe and DD in the beginning of March. My 20 year old DD had a dry cough and her chest hurt, no other symptoms. She went to urgent care and they said it was bronchitis, which was going around her college at the time. She didn't have a fever when she...

Can anyone give me advice on anxiety medication? Particularly (sertraline) Zoloft? Especially if anyone found it helpful

She's definitely not going to be doing that or trying CBD at this point. Thanks for the info though.

Can anyone give me advice on anxiety medication? Particularly (sertraline) Zoloft? Especially if anyone found it helpful

Thought I'd post an update on my DD. She saw 2 cardiologists in the last 2 weeks. I did get her in sooner thankfully. They both want her to stop both medications gradually. She's already decreasing the anxiety medication. Once she's off that, she's going to stop the beta blocker. She did go to...

    TAX TIME- By hand?!

I used to use the IRS Free Fillable Forms all the time. It wasn't too hard. Just took some time. Than a few years ago I started using H&R Block's Free File. I believe it is free no matter your income. It's very easy to use. (I still file DD's taxes using H&R Block). The last 2 years I've taken...
