I have driven down to Disney from Missouri many times, most recently in August of 2007. We usually stop somewhere south of Nashville and finish the next day. Very fun drive. Just have to hit Atlanta at the right time.

Don't worry about the drop on Maelstrom! My dad does not like big thrills, either, and he did not mind the drop at all. It is pretty brief, and you know that it's coming, so it's not this big surprise or anything. I enjoyed the ride!
