We were there a year ago, and we'll be there a year from now. Does anyone know the most recent refurb of the VWL and the WL common areas? We absolutely adore the resort and hope that things will be as special as they were last time.
Thanks!

 Thanksgiving 2007. I'm an eager planner. :Pinkbounc
It sounds like the perfect spot for us! I forgot about the playground! Oh my goodness, I wish it was THIS Thanksgiving. We arrived Sat after Thanksgiving last year and it is just an amazing time of year there!
Thanks...
Our T-Day choices are:
Whispering Canyon
Ft. Wilderness Dinner
Trails End
1900 Park Fare
We're looking for a very much homestyle Thanksgiving. The kind of Thanksgiving where you go outside and toss a football around after dinner. I'm leaning steadily towards Trails End, because it...
I would never do the dining plan. Why?
1. Because restaurants are a hassle with our young children. Fun once or twice on the trip, but that's about it.
2. Because I would rather be on Space Mountain than waiting on a check/figuring out credits/reading a menu/waiting for my party to...
We really want to have the same view we had last time at VWL. I don't know what our chances are of getting the same room, but we'd at least like the same side of the building. We're going at a really popular time (Thanksgiving) for VWL, so I'm hoping it's not hopeless.

Just had a talk with dh. And my mother. We're staying put. I love VWL rooms and decorating way more than BWV, and dh reminded me of the big fuss we had the morning we had to pack and load everything up. We had to toss out food we couldn't take with us. We were without a hotel for the...
We have 10 days planned for Thanksgiving 07. We did a split last time with VWL and Swan, hated Swan but loved location for last two nights. Felt like we were staying AT Epcot.
I've never considered NOT doing a split stay, but maybe there are some out there who prefer staying in one place...
Just bumping to see if anyone has any more thoughts for us on this. We're going to email our DVC member today to let her know what points we'll be needing to rent to give her the heads up. All I have left to figure out is how many nights we'll spend at each place. I think we will stick with...
I meant to also add that we were planning on skipping the parks the first few days (Thursday-Saturday) and using those days to visit the resort restaurants and have a bike riding day at Fort Wilderness. Now that I think about it, I think that was the reason we were thinking VWL first, lol...
Thanks everyone! I hadn't even considered VWL second, lol. We stayed there last year and arrived Sat after Thanksgiving (1st night at POP) and then last 2 nights at the Swan, so I think that's what had me thinking that order.
I'm also wondering how many days at each. We love VWL and for...
Check on that luggage switch. When we were there in December, they did NOT switch our luggage for us and it was a huge pain. HUGE. And it was also disappointing going from WL to Swan. I know some people disagree, but I think the Swan is sorely lacking.

Let me add that Disney...
We're going for 10 nights, starting Thanksgiving Day. We'd like to start at VWL and then move to BWV later. We're having the hardest time figuring out how to divide up the nights.
Thanks for any thoughts!

Another thing my dh and I always try to remember when it comes to walks...
if you're going to WDW, you're going to be walking. Period. So when it comes to cutting 2-3 minutes off a walk, no big deal. That's what we forget but try to remember. We were concerned about not being as close as...
SOLD! LOL, those are beautiful pictures! I'm terribly torn. What a problem to have, huh? Gee, what beautiful resort should I move to after my stay in a beautiful resort? Trouble, trouble trouble...
