    Bugs in Orlando

i got a tip off these boards that said to use fabric softener sheets as bug repellant. They are less messy and smell better than bug spray. Not sure if it works, but its worth a try. They are lightweight and you can just rub 'em on your arms and legs as needed. If anyone has tried this...

    Airline Changed My Reservation

Try Southwest Airlines. They will not change their flights once they are published. Even if the flight is empty, the plane will go, because while its empty at one station, it is still needed somewhere else for the next flight. Some of these other airlines cancel flights with low bookings and...

ANYBODY LEAVING MAY 17th GOT ME TAGS YET?

THEYRE HERE!! Leaving this Sunday (15th) and the Fedex lady just came by(Thurs). I wasn't expecting them and really wasn't that concerned about it. However it'll be nice to put those little yellow tags on anyway! I would expect most everyone leaving next week should get them very soon. Mine...

    Southwest ??s

I work at BWI, which is the national test center for TSA. They implement all new procedures here first to test them. As you can imagine the security here is probably the toughest anywhere. Here are some common sense things to do to make it a harmless experience. 1. Dont get pissed off with...

    ME airlines

If you are eligible to use Magical Express, it doesn't matter which airline you use. ME is an arrangement between you and WDW, not your airline. When you register for your Disney resort, they will take your flight info. When you arrive at Orlando airport, they will already be waiting for you and...

BWI airport and Southwest - is there a skycap for curbside check in

We just got an update from the company on the opening of the new terminal at BWI. Between May 5-16 there will be various things going on like grand opening ceremonies, press day, employee tours, etc. As far as flying goes, our aircraft that arrive and stay overnight here will begin to park at...

Just a vent on my Delta experience this weekend

try Southwest Airlines next time! Lots of non-stops to MCO from just about everywhere.

BWI airport and Southwest - is there a skycap for curbside check in

I am using ME from BWI as well. I dont think there is any signifigance at check-in. As long as you have the special ME bag tags affixed to your bags, they will be checked in and loaded on your flight as normally done. The only difference is at arrival to MCO. SWA and/or the curbside check-in...

BWI airport and Southwest - is there a skycap for curbside check in

Thanks for the kind words. I too hope all my co-workers are as kind to our passengers as they can be. As for the terminal opening date, the last we heard it was slated for May 18th. I'm not sure how the progress is going on construction, so I would imagine nothing is in stone on that date. We...

BWI airport and Southwest - is there a skycap for curbside check in

How soon before you leave. The reason I ask is that on May 18th or so we will be opening a new terminal extension at BWI. If you leave before May 18, then take upper deck(departures) and after driving about 300 yards, SWA will be the second stop(i think delta is stop 1). As you unload from your...

BWI airport and Southwest - is there a skycap for curbside check in

$20 is a very nice tip! I would expect a couple bucks per bag is sufficient though. At BWI the skycap stations are right in front of the SWA ticket counters(albeit outside). Not much chance of your bags not getting to the belt.

    USA3000 vs. Southwest?

I see you are in Maryland. SWA has at least 10 daily departures from BWI to Orlando and 8 or 9 of them are non-stops. Hold out for SWA. You dont say how many people your paying for on USA 3000, but you could easily beat that price on SWA for 4 people. If you want a refundable ticket it will cost...

Not good signs for airfares....SW talking about raising prices !!!

The "girl" you are refering to is our President, Colleen Barrett. Our current CEO is Gary Kelly. Before accepting this position last year, Gary was our CFO(chief financial officer). it was him and the fuel management department that had the foresight SEVERAL years ago to hedge so drastically...

BWI airport and Southwest - is there a skycap for curbside check in

There are skycaps at BWI. They are not employees of SWA, but will check your bags for SWA. They will then cart them to SWA baggage belt and away they go. These guys basically work for tips and since they are not associated with SWA it is your decision to tip or not. If you want your bags to get...

    I Called Southwest

gw lit..... thanks for posting the earnings report quote. As a mechanic for SWA I can tell you that although we are VERY well hedged for the next few years, we are not 100% hedged for any year. The unhedged portion of our fuel purchases may cost us more in fuel expense as the price of oil...

PLease don't shoot..another SW boarding question!!

as an employee of SWA i can tell you it is our policy to afford our passengers with special needs the right to board together. Many times these people need someone to sit with them to assist them during the flight. I dont doubt there have probably been times that gate agents have said no, but...

PLease don't shoot..another SW boarding question!!

your whole party will pre-board with you. If you have your own wheelchair they will check it at the gate and bring it up to you when you arrive. although you will pre-board, if you have your own chair you will have to wait until last to get off. it usually takes a few minutes for them to fetch...
