    Packing cubes--are they worth it?

You know, I used to be a devout ziploc bag packer, but then I started using packing cubes and now I don't pack any other way. The ziploc bags were good, but it used to take me FOREVER to pack them (we have 2 small children). Plus the suitcases would be a mess of empty bags, bags with some...

OT- how much tv is too much?

I think the American Academy of Pediatrics has guidlines established for how much TV is recommended for children to watch. You can google their website to see what they say...I'm pretty sure they say no tv at all before age 2, though. Hard to do I know! I do have to say that in my opinion a...

    Attention Maclaren Triumph owners!

I was wondering if anyone knows if the sunshade/hood is machine washable? If so, how do you remove it? Also...has anyone had an airline let them put this stroller in the overhead bin instead of gate checking it? Thanks in advance! :)

    best family beach vacation

I too was surprised by the post not recommending Ocean City, MD. We have been a few times and love it! The boardwalk is awesome, and the beach is very nice too. The kids love the rides at the end of the boardwalk and the frequent ice cream places. :) I think it's a perfect vacation for...

    Crocs for kids at Disney?

I never put my kids in crocs at Disney...they wear their Tevas instead. They just seem a little more secure on their feet, they tend to step out of their crocs sometimes.

Need advice about bed for 2 yr old.. please help

We always just surround our 2yo with pillows in the bed whenever we travel. It works perfectly and he's never come close to rolling out.

Eating your own packed lunch in the parks

In the MK we ate lunch on some benches near the rafts to Tom Sawyer island, kind of near BTMRR. It was nice and shady, but then midway through our lunch we realized it was a smoking area! If that's not a problem for you then it's a great place to stop and have lunch.

    Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or 'Ho'tique

ITA. I would never allow my DD to go to BBB. I see no reason for little girls to walk around in public in glitter, makeup, hair extensions...etc. To each their own.

    What type of booster seat?

I'm glad to hear you've decided to keep your daughter in the Britax Marathon. It is safer for children to be secured in a car seat with a 5-point harness for as long as possible. It seems like a lot of parents put their kids in booster seats too early, because it seems like the "right" thing...

went to my sons preschool for the day

I completely agree with you. And I also cannot believe a staff member would share that information with you. I am sorry, but this just doesn't seem like a very good preschool to me.

    traveling toddler on suitcase

It is not tippy at all, remember that you have the weight of your child plus the weight of the carseat and suitcase so it is very stable. And, if I am correct, I believe you are supposed to push it in front of you and not pull it behind you. It is supposed to be kind of like a stroller. I...

    traveling toddler on suitcase

We have the travelling toddler and love it! It makes getting through the airport so much easier. We were always lugging the heavy carseat and it was such a pain. We pack all the stuff we need for the plane ride in the carryon and it works out great as we are hands free going through the...

Tell me about Gymboree 0-6 month classes . . .

We tried the classes around 6 months old and it wasn't worth it for us. However at around 18 months DD seemed to enjoy the class a lot more.

    Packing clothes with ziplocs.

This is true. I love packing the kids clothes in ziplocs...it's also great because I'm always wary of putting our clothes in the hotel dresser drawers, this way it's fine cause they're proteced by the bags. The kids just open a drawer and pick an outfit for that day. Actually, I don't think I...

Banish kids to the back of the plane?

My own 2 young children have been flying since they were infants and we fly frequently. They know what behavior is expected of them when we travel. Has my 2yo kicked a seat back now and then? Yes, he's 2 and his car seat puts his little feet at just the right height and distance from the seat...

OT: Question about how much to pay a babysitter?

I would say around $12, especially considering the ages of your children. It can be difficult to watch 2 children, especially at these ages...definitely no less than $10 per hour. HTH:)

    Phil & Ted's at WDW?

We just took ours a few weeks ago and overall I'm glad we did. However, we had a rental car...if I was taking the buses I would not have brought it and brought our 2 single maclarens instead, as a previous poster is doing. We only had a couple of issues with it...one was that our 2yo decided...

I feel like I'm betraying Mickey

LOL, I completely agree! Personally, we always stay offsite and never feel like we're missing any magic. We love having a ton of space and our own car (I so do NOT do buses!). Plus I rather like leaving "campus" at the end of each day. But to each their own...have a great trip whatever you...

So, what do you do during the "Rope Drop Wait"?

I'm always concerned about this too, but it's never an issue...the kids are just so excited to be at Disney World! They usually just relax in the stroller and we all talk, go over our touring plans and get ready for the mad dash to our first ride!
