Character dining with a 3 yr. old girl

Neither choice is unusual, really. Most kids (just from eyeballing it, no formal count, lol) don't dress up, but enough do that they don't stand out as odd. The percentage of kids in costumes seems to go up at the Princess meals......

    poolside food service?

    Great. Thanks, all. :)

    poolside food service?

Quick question - Do all 3 hotels have poolside service with waiters bringing food to your chair/cabana?

Don't want to be the packhorse - Will I regret it?

DD10 has been carrying at least some of her stuff since our first WDW trip when she was 5. I carry the money, tickets, camera, sunscreen (we both burn easily, so re-application isn't optional, lol), and maybe a few other things, depending on the day. She carries her stuff - small snack...

Looking for Richard - long shot :)

OK, this is a VERY long shot, but I'm wondering if Richard from Gloucester reads the forum. We met at the RPR pool in August and it'd be nice to talk some more. No biggie. :) If you're out there, PM me - I'm sure you can remember something so I know it's you. :goodvibes

    For all you solo travelers...

Yes, I was nervous! I planned a trip with an old friend, but as it turned out, she had to leave a few days before I did. Instead of changing my plans, I decided to have a few solo days. I'm really glad I did! It's a bit luxurious, as it turned out - you can indulge *yourself* with whatever...

It's a cryin' shame! Lost DDP credits...A BUNCH!

It must be. When I checked in last year during the free dinging promo, I asked the woman checking me in to print out my ADRs for me. She looked at the list and said she was happy I'd made all of my arrangements - she said that I wouldn't believe how many people didn't make any ADRs, then yelled...

    Dinner credit question???

It shouldn't be a big deal. Just make sure you let your server know when you're ordering instead of waiting until after it's all in the computer and has to be re-entered to accommodate the change..... :-)

    DD with split stays

You'l have to buy two separate packages - two hotels, two DDPs, two park tickets - and make sure you use credits during the stay they're associated with. Really, the only extra cost is the second set of tickets, but if you can use those to offset the cost of tickets on a future non-DDP trip and...

Vegetarian meals at Liberty Tree and Garden Grill?

LTT does the Amber Waves of Grain, which amounts to a huge bowl of grain with vegetables piled on top. It's not the best meal I've ever had, but it's not bad. It is way too much food for me, and I eat well.... I do prefer to eat AWG than to stick with the side dishes when we decide to eat there...

    another socks with crocs question...Sorry

I picked up the no-show socks in black and white at Walmart, so they must be available in lots of places. They're kind of like those low-cut socks with the pom-pom on the back, except without the pom-pom. They come pretty close to disappearing, but frankly, I figure if I've chosen comfort over...

Single Mom traveling with 4 year old

I've traveled on my own with DD from the time she was 9 months old and we were flying back and forth to Japan, so it is possible. :-) WDW is definitely one of the easiest one-parent trips going - no driving stress, various foods to satisfy any kid's palate, etc. I started taking her when she was...

    More trouble than it's worth?

Previous posters are right - read what you're supposed to get beforehand and ask if you have any questions and you'll be just fine. The only confusions I've seen involve people who didn't stop to understand the plan ahead of time, like the guy ahead of me who had loaded up various breakfast...

Free Dining + Value Resort = Sold Out!?!

Expedia will have a number of rooms to be booked only through them - if you booked a room, you will have a room. Their inventory is separate from Disney's, so it is possible for one to have availability when the other doesn't. When our Feb trip was cancelled due to weather, I was able to book in...

Are there exceptions to the DP for mentally/phisically challenged?

I'd also suggest calling the Dining folks and asking to speak to a supervisor if the reservation CM isn't 100% sure or if they tell you no. The supervisor should be able to confirm the no if it's a set-in-stone policy or discuss options with you if not. Thing is, it's possible it is set in...

Does WDW have snowcones?? Nothing better to cool you down on a hot day!!

The melon kaki-gori is my all-time favorite WDW snack. Well worth the walk. :)

Help! Child age for child menu ??

If you're using DDP, then 10 and over is an adult. If you're paying OOP, it's less likely to be a big issue unless you're at a buffet or pre-plated all-you-can-eat, where age counts again for sure.

Tarnished pressed pennies from 12/06-1/07 already!

disgram - New, shiny pennies will tarnish. They're just a copper jacket over zinc. When you smash the coin, the zinc shows through - you can see the silvery streaks many times - and that's what will tarnish to black. Pre-1982 pennies are solid copper and will not tarnish in the same way. They...

    HELP! (long)

Nothing you describe should be a problem. Just let your server know up front that you need 2 checks and who will be using DDP vs OOP so they can enter things into the computer correctly the first time instead of taking the time to go back and redo everything. It'll make their (and your) life...

    Pre-arranging Vegetarian meals

Most places will have a veg option already. Buffets like Boma are always easy - the chef will walk you down the line and explain what is and is not veg if you need. For places that don't have a veg option or have one that is unacceptable for allergy reasons or some such, contact them ahead of...
