    Suggestions for Thanksgiving Dinner

We are planning a family trip over Thanksgiving '06. Looking for recommendations on where to have Thanksgiving Dinner??? Does anyone have suggestions for me? We're a group of 17 (ages 18 months to 67 years) -- and we'd love to dine as a group ---- Thanks for any advice ...

what do the free "graduation" shirts look like?

I thought the shirts were only "okay" certainly nothing special -- they were free (hypothetically, at least) so they are fine. However, these would never replace a really good souvenir shirt, in my opinion -- they really is no reference to Mickey Mouse, cruise ships, etc. -- it says Disney Sea...

    Hurrican Perdictions -- !!

Just saw on cnn.com that they (the weather people) are predicting an "active" hurricane season this year -- similar to and possibly more active than last year. They say they predict 7 - 9 major hurricane-type storms between June 1 - Nov 30 (Hurricane Season). See the article here...

HOW FREQUENT ARE MEDICAL EMERGENCIES ONBOARD? Any interesting witnessing?

Better to be safe than sorry that's always my philisophy -- especially when you are out at sea and you can't get to a "multi-skilled" ER quickly -- think of some of the ports of call you were headed to -- you certainly could have gotten worse medical attention in those places than on the ship...

    Weather/Temps in February?

My philisophy on Feb (we sailed Feb 05) is it's just too risky! Especially the 3 and 4 night cruises that don't go as far south -- while we had great weather (24th-27th), I think the cruise right after us was a wash-out. In fact, the morning we sailed into port is was massive downpours...

    cell phones?

I wouldn't depend on any cell service -- I have T-Mobile and my husband has the Nextel Network and neither of us could call out or receive calls -- we were on the 3 day in Feb 05 -- so, I doubt much has changed since.

Stay onboard vs. Nassau on 3 night cruise?

I also agree with the majority -- we traveled on our first cruise in Feb 05 -- while we did get off the ship to say we visited Nassau (even seeked out the place to have our passports signed for the fun of it) -- I will not go back anytime soon. We were off the ship for a total of about 1 1/2...

    Christmas ornaments onboard?

I bought the Christopher Radko designed (blown glass) ornament of the ship -- a bit pricey ($20) which was the most expensive one I saw. They had a small variety of other ornaments as well -- all are Disney Cruise Line Specific -- which is what I wanted. I bought each of my boys a lesser...

Sailed 1/29/05 - Wanting Castaway Club info, please

We sailed for the first time in late Feb 05 and to my delight received our Castaway cards, etc. about a week ago. :cool1:

    How the Shopping in Nassau?

I too, felt the prices were only marginally better. For example, we looked at Tommy Bahama clothes for my husband and the prices were maybe $5 to $10 cheaper, at the most. I was pricing a Longchamps purse/bag -- that sells at Nordstrom for the same price as in the shop in Nassau. Designer...

    Magic in Sept. Questions?

Don't depend on the refrigerator for keeping "cold" beverages cold -- it simply isn't the case. Our bottles of water were a bit cooler than room temperature only -- this will never keep milk, beer, juice or anything else cold that you like to drink cold. Cruising with kids under 3 will be...

    Music at Sail Away Party

On our Feb 05 3-day sailaway party they the first song they did was "Let's Get it Started" by the Black Eyed Peas (the censored version, of course) -- and, since my boys already had the censored CD, I play it all the time and remember waving good bye to Port and heading out to sea on a...

    How's the food? Really?

Don't get mad at me -- this is only my opinion! And, please remember, my DH and I are big restaurant eaters/people living in Chicago area -- so, we might be comparing too much -- Overall, we thought the food was just marginal -- we had the late seating and that might have something to do...

    Verandah, Nav. Verandah, etc.

Can an experienced Disney Cruiser explain the other category rooms that allow for "fresh air" -- we sailed in Feb 05 with a Cat 4, Deck 8, 8506 -- loved the verandah and the convenient location -- however, next time would like to consider a different category room if I can get fresh air somehow...

Please help, need help deciding on verandah or not???

At first I wanted to say 'go verandah' but then I remembered that not everyone is claustrophic like me -- I need the ability to get fresh air immediately if I start to feel closed-in. However, given our room location during our Feb 05 cruise, I probably could have handled a room with out -- we...

Where do you stay the night before?

we stayed at the radisson -- I thought it was a bit expensive for what you got but it was for just an overnight -- but, there was free breakfast in the morning -- and, it might have been a so-so experience because the place was under major construction when we were there too -- rooms were clean...

    What time can we board?

We were the first car in the port parking lot -- thus, we were the first car in line to drop off our luggage curbside at the terminal -- while my husband re-parked the car in the lot and paid (in advance) -- the boys (DS8 DS5) and I entered the terminal -- we literally were the first people in...

    What time can we board?

We cruised in late Feb on the 3-day and we were one of the first to board -- we got on well before noon -- maybe 11:00 or so -- it was great -- we had 4 or 5 hours on the ship before the drill -- it felt like a longer vacation boarding that early -- :cool1:

    Cat 3 vs 4

We sailed on the Wonder in Feb -- we had a category 4 and loved it. I don't really know what more you get in a Cat. 3, but, we had a familly of 4 and had plenty of room, great service, etc. -- we were so rarely in the room that it really didn't matter -- We've done concierge level at a few...

Nassau? Worth leaving the ship? We live near a beautiful beach...

We got off so we could get our passports stamped (not necessary but we wanted to) -- shopped for about an hour and then we went back to the ship -- Nassau is awful and I don't plan to go back anytime soon (crowded, pushy people, etc.) -- maybe if we checked out Atalantis or something I feel...
