First Time Cruisers - Need Help

If you are looking to find out what cruising is all about skip the 3 day cruise. Many people like the days at sea better than the port days and a 3 day cruise doesn't have a day at sea. As for a 4 or 7 day cruise, my preference is for a 7 day day cruise as it takes me a few days to relax and...

    Old Tickets and Halloween Upgrades?

In the past you could only buy upgrade tickets in the park. You didn't have to go the same night as the daytime ticket. Almost any ticket can be upgraded. The additional cost is the difference of the new ticket minus the original price of the old ticket. Currently the two day ticket is a...

    More on Universal's "Owners"

Universal Orlando is owned by Universal Vivendi and the Blackstone Group not just by Universal. I believe it is 50/50 ownership. Blackstone has been on a buying spree lately. Also the U.S. part of Vivendi is not totally intergrated with the parent company. It is the parent company that is...

    Room sizes

The only difference between club level and the other rooms is the amenities-concierge, snack beverage etc. Most of the rooms are the same size as the garden and pool view rooms. The deluxe rooms are larger (the amount depends on the bedding, queen-queen or king) and adds a little sitting...

    Old Universal Studios Ticket

That ticket is still good, but only at USF. (excludes IOA) The ticket will not expire until used as long as the perforated stub is still attached. If you want, you may apply the original value of your ticket to a new ticket that would include IOA.

Just talk to the bell staff. As long as they have someone available, they will make the transition from one hotel to the other easy for you.

    Best Western Movieland?

The hotel went under complete rehab about 2 years ago. It was formerly the Las Palmas Hotel and is run by the people who own the Best Western Plaza Hotel down the street. Based on stories from people in the tourism industry, I would not stay at this hotel because of complaints of pests (bugs)...

Off site hotels - comfort suites at Universal Entrance

The Comfort Suites is located on Major Blvd next to the Sleep Inn. Both hotels are run by the same people. I have not stayed at the Comfort Suites, but the Sleep Inn is a hotel I would recommend. The Comfort Suites are one room accomodations with microwave and refrigator. Another hotel...

Queen-Queen rooms at the PBH do not have a sofa bed. Selected king rooms may have a sofa bed. As for a balcony, you may request it, but they cannot guarantee it. Also not all balconies allow you to walk outside.

The offer was $99.00 per night room only. In the commercial there was a special ticket offer for the guests who had this special rate. If you didn't listen closely to the ad, you may have easisly assumed the ticket was included.

Late Oct. crowds at Universal or IOA? Need to stay onsite?

Are you talking about the parks in the daytime or during HHN? The parks in the daytime at the end of October can be busier on the weekend because of HHN where people can go all day and night long. Mid week will be quieter. One other thing to consider is that October has a lot of conventions...

    Camp Little Rock @ HRH?

    Western Steer = scary!

From my experiences the Ponderosa offers the same experience. I have heard good and bad about the the Golden Corral though. Sweet Tomatos is now offering a breakfast buffet at their Kirkman/I drive location. They are usually a salad/soup/pasta buffet place. Has anybody tried the breakfast?

    off-site & avoiding traffic?

Avoid the Kissimmee/192/Lake Buena Vista area as you will probably need to use I-4. There is congestion almost daily between the Universal and Disney areas and it gets worse during the Christmas-New Years week. Some areas you may want to look into include across from Universal on Kirkman...
