40% off Grand Floridian in May?

We received the offer/pin via email. It allowed us to book online, so I was able to check availability for different dates and resorts. Try calling, and keep checking with central reservations, hopefully, you may already have a pin attached to your name.

Thoughts on how to handle 1 night with 6 people?

Maybe Disney will offer a Florida resident discount for July so your MIL could book a discounted room at the Beach Club Resort for one night adjoining your room at BC, then as you suggested, you wouldn't have to move.

Resorts that have taken a down turn

I truly expected the BC to have gone downhill from what I had noted on this board, but instead I was amazed at how lovely everything looked, especially considering the crowd of Christmas visitors. The wall coverings, carpet, draperies and linens all looked very nice, the vanity/bath were...

Resorts that have taken a down turn

We just returned from a week's stay at the Beach Club (non CL) and from what I had read on this board, I expected to be somewhat disappointed, but on the contrary, it was as delightful as ever. We have been visiting GF, YC, BC and BWI every couple of years since their opening and so far have not...

    Disapointed with Decorations

Thank you so much for posting your photos! Christmas wreaths on the wheels of the bus, too cute!!! I didn't realize the Christmas Country Bear Jamboree had been discontinued, but at least I now have advance warning. The LED are so cold looking, but as long as companies are making big...

    Disapointed with Decorations

I agree!!! Epcot could use some jazzing up since they eliminated the lights. We're paying a whopping $420. per night at BC until 12/17, and would like a little magic and bright lights, the kind Michael Eisner once provided.

2010 Yacht and Beach Club FAQ, Part II---Inactive Thread--- Please do not post here!

I didn't see the $10.00 option available for the Beach Club online for this December, is it just for reservations in 2011? TIA

    Location or atmosphere?

I would keep your current reservation, or else book the Boardwalk Inn if you think you might enjoy that more than Beach Club. Epcot has some great entertainment going on during the Christmas season, and you will have easy access to two parks from BC or BWI as opposed to only one at AKL...

just received a pin code now the ??......

I agree with pattyw, but have you considered staying at an Epcot resort, since you've previously visited the monorail resorts while staying at Shades. The Beach Club is beautiful, and the rooms have recently been redecorated. It's also an easy walk from BC to Epcot, and a relatively short...

What is going on with resort guests?

Well said, and has anyone noticed that many of the people objecting to guests requesting upgrades, etc, have an unusually large number of posts, so I wonder . . . . . could they possibly be working for Disney?!

Please tell me I'll be ok at POR!

Here is a recent thread from 5/21/10 (about 4 pages back) on the subject. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2467523 My heart really goes out to families who don't read the DisBoard and unwittingly book the same hotels at the time when the Pop Warner groups are visiting. It's a...

    DJs at Resort Pools

I will certainly second that! We hate it too, and if their goal is to drive guests away from the pool area, they are succeeding!

Be aware if traveling to WDW within the next few days

Thank you so much "Aussie Wendy" for your suggestion concerning acidophilus-bifidus, and also bringing along dishwashing soap for the hotel drinking glasses, etc. which we hadn't previously considered. After traveling such a long distance, I am glad you & your family enjoyed your trip.

OT-Grape Jelly or Peanut Butter Recipes

Blend peanut butter, cooked bacon, which has been cut into tiny pieces, and Major Grey's chutney, then roll into small balls and you can either freeze or refrigerate. When you are ready to serve, broil them, but keep watch so they don't burn, yummy! Major Grey's is also good if you spread it...

    car rentals at resorts

Last week we rented a midsize at the Dolphin, 5 days, for $100.80 including taxes. We used an American Express code from Mousesavers and $40./off from National's online site. It was so convenient from BC, and they even upgraded us to a full-size.

    Rental Car Specials!

We just rented a midsize from National using an American Express code from MouseSavers, and a $40./off code from National's site, and paid $100. for 5 days, including taxes. We walked over from BC to pick up the car at the Dolphin, but I'm sure the same rate was also available at the airport...
