Does anyone else get really anxious before they go on Holiday?

Too much to do, too little time...... DD reminded me this morning that I don't seem to have had my usual disney nightmares before the trip yet. They are usually of the forgot to catch the plane, forgot all my luggage, forgot my family persuasion.:scared1: It will be worth it all when we get there!

Do you go to WDW for your kids?

WDW is our DD's favourite place to go on holiday, so we would go just for her. Happily the DH and I, the "big kids" in our family have such fun that we go for us as well! Our first trips to DLP was supposed to be just for her, but we all had such fun together we rushed about like kids...

Whats the longest you have ever stayed on-site?

In the run up to a trip the imaginative part of me lives in disney for about 6months:) 18 at GF during our Christmas trip a few years ago - was amazing to be in Disney that long - best holiday ever. It was at the time where the hotel rate stayed at the rate you arrived on, so spent it all on...

what are YOUR first night traditions?

We're all bears of very little brain when we make it accross the atlantic and handle the 5 hours time difference. Used to get room service and try to get to bed before we lose the will to think. At the BC though DD keen to at least inspect the pool before bed and hang around the beach. Visiting...

    Coffee & Dessert during Illuminations

We were lucky enough to get a small table next to the crepe stand for illuminations - great view and yummy dessert!

When Are You Going To MNSSHP? What Will You Be? NEW SCAVENGER HUNT DETAILS FIRST POST

We think we'll be going twice :scared1: - we're mad brits that don't get accross that often. For the first one DH will be a jedi, DD will be tinkerbell and I'll be a pirate wench. For the second DH will still be a jedi, DD will be Alice and I'll be Queen of Hearts. I'm making the Alice dress...

    What are your pre-MNSSHP plans?

:wave2: Apart from our lunch ressie at Le Cellier being at 1245 this is exactly our plan! We'll be MNSSHPing to near the end, so wanted to be fully rested rather than turning into pumpkins before midnight. Did my shortest trip ever to MK before our first MNSSHP to buy a tinkerbell dress...

How often does the Magical Express leave MCO for Disney?

Thank you, that answers a question I was about to ask! I was just checking our trip details yesterday and our ME time is 12noon even though we land at 1630. We used ME 2 years ago and seemed to be very speedy (and so much less stressful than driving, and navigating) - that was in October though.

Dining Plan with 10 yr old with Autism

I think it would be a really reasonable thing to ask, but also know they way DDP can be tricky and haven't tried it myself. If you have particular ADRs it might be worth explaining when you book so they have a note with your ressie. Don't know if having a guest assistance card to show might help...

Food and Wine Festival and Dining Plan

We're planning on at least one day "snacking round the world" on our trip in October. Is a good way of trying all sorts of different things, but not committing to a whole meal at once.

    Grand Floridian Cafe...hidden gem?

Has "hidden gem" status in our family. Been there a couple of times for dinner, and enjoyed hugely. Always quiet, relaxing and peaceful.

What is the best pool at a Disney resort?

Beach Club with us as well - DD informs me is awesome!

When did your kids stop dressing up?

The last piccies we have of DD in costume is from when she was 9 - Alice costume in MK, such great photo ops. Princesses went a couple of years before that but we did have a pirate phase for a bit. She doesn't dress up on normal park days now, but for MNSSHP all that changes and she's really...

    The wait is killing me

80 days and counting for us, and sympathising! I know the time just oozes past slowly at this point! I'm making up albums of previous trips at the moment, which helps pass the time, but just makes me want to go back even more! It will pass though, and nearer the time when you have things to do...

    Food and Wine Festival

We're going October 8th to 22nd - travelling from Scotland to spending 2 lovely weeks in Orlando,:cheer2: Staying at the Beach Club, as DD loves the pool there, and we really enjoyed it 2 years ago. Walkable to Epcot which is a real bonus. Have dining plan as part of our package, so planning on...

What is your face non-main ticket attraction?

We have to do Mickey's Philharmagic early in each trip as it's one that makes us feel like we've arrived. Discovered the Conservation Station at AK last time - which was great. Little Mermaid at HS is a must for us too. Watching the fountains in Epcot. Outside the parks we had a blast...

    Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

I think it's brilliant! Even when I used to think twice about rides with drops this one never bothered me. We ride it every trip, more than once. Is amazing in the dark, and we like it best at the back of the train because the ride is smoother and just better. We've done it at in California...

How to prepare for ToT? Help!

The anticipation is worse than the real thing. :scared1:Remember the apparently bloodcurdling screams are from people like me who scream on every drop and are just happy but loud! Find something distracting to do / think about in line and go for it!

    Eating at the parks

We like the platters at the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco in Epcot - always share and it is relatively healthier than some other counter service options.
