A question for those who have cruised with NCL

You have been more help than I could have hoped for. Even the digressions included information to be stored away for another day. What I've noticed on this board is that people are freer with their non-flattering observations about NCL than the people on the NCL board of the website I've been...

A question for those who have cruised with NCL

Wow, now I can't wait to go! As much as we love DCL, I wouldn't mind a little more variety in the dining options. I'm psyched about the kids (9, 13 and 16) also being able to enjoy the specialty restaurants. I do have another question. We're not big soda drinkers, but I wonder if we...

Just for fun... Who's been upgraded?

Of our four cruises, we were upgraded on our first. We were upgraded from 2 adjoining category 9 rooms to two connected category six rooms. We had booked with AAA and found out about the upgrade at the port.

A question for those who have cruised with NCL

It's been almost a year since I've visited the Disboards. I wish I was back because of an upcoming cruise with DCL, but I'm not. I don't forsee a DCL cruise in our near future unfortunately. But the good news is that this November, my father is taking our whole family on a NCL cruise with his...

    October 2009 Western Caribbean Cruise

I was just about to ask for pictures, too. Our galley tour must have been right before yours if you didn't get hot cookies. We did. I've been on the galley tour twice before, and this was the first time I was in a group that arrived in the kitchen just as the cookies came out of the oven.

Our Magical 10.17 Western (with pics)....UPDATED Wednesday 11/25

I can relate to your method of packing (especially the "just in case" stuff). What did you think of the Residence Inn? We have stayed there. I like it because it's clean and the service and amenities are everything we need in a hotel. Their breakfast is pretty good for a hotel breakfast bars...

In Sickness and In Health: The October 17th Anniversary Cruise

Hi, Tara, I wouldn't worry about getting tired of each other. You'll probably find just the opposite, that you have to plan time to be together! If your family is like ours, you have different interests, expectations and limitations and those will lead you all in different directions once...

In Sickness and In Health: The October 17th Anniversary Cruise

Ahh, the imp of the perverse lives in us all. I thought about posting it on the main board but I knew in my heart, I would just be stirring the pot.

In Sickness and In Health: The October 17th Anniversary Cruise

It just occurred to me. Could my father-in-law have engineered the whole miss-the-flight ordeal to insure that he would not be present to participate in the muster drill? :rolleyes1 There was no more drama for the rest of the cruise as far as our parents are concerned. There was a different...

In Sickness and In Health: The October 17th Anniversary Cruise

The in-laws learn a lesson or two or three Lesson One – Leave your monster truck at home. It's early, early Saturday morning, the day of the cruise. My in-laws are beginning their journey. My FIL insisted on driving to the airport in his behemoth-sized truck instead of his wife's parking...

    Best Foods

Dh loves the fruit soups. My in-laws liked the soups so much they told the head waiter when he stopped at our table one night. My MIL asked if there was a recipe book for the soups that she could buy in the gift shop. He said there wasn't but gave her copies of the soup recipes. I don't know...

In Sickness and In Health: The October 17th Anniversary Cruise

During Christmas of 2007, I suggested to my in-laws that, now that all of their grandkids were out of diapers and naps, it would be fun for all the family (grandparents, grown sons and their families) to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on a Disney Cruise in 2009. Being the healthy...

My experience with SPH room #5020 with pics

Those are the best pictures of the staterooms I've seen. We've had both balcony and inside rooms but never a porthole room. Your pictures gave me a good feel for what it would be like. Thanks for posting.

WE NEED A VACATION!! .. Pre-Trip Report.. to cruise OCT 17

Sue, how close are you to writing your trip report? I've gotten as far as moving pictures off my flashcard but I think I'm weeks away from writing a report. Shoot, I would be weeks away from finishing the laundry if it wasn't for my kids being old enough to do it for me.

    Best Foods

My favorites are the sea bass, Ahi tuna, Mickey bars, chocolate souffle with vanilla sauce, scallops (at Palo), and chicken tenders on deck 9 (forgot the name of the place).

    October 17, 2009 Western

Alan, I hope you had a painless if not pleasant journey home. For us, coming back home meant picking up where we left off in our schooling (the kids and me) and work (dh) complicated by the burden of vacation laundry (for me), illness, job insecurity (scary things happening at dh's...

    October 17, 2009 Western

I feel like crap today but no cold symptoms or fever - just tired and achy. That's no surprise since dh was sick on the cruise and Leah came home with a fever and fatigue. I guess it's my turn. I still haven't finished unpacking my stuff. This morning I got an email about the "School at...

    October 17, 2009 Western

Would that last name be Sullivan? Our rooms were on deck six and saw the two Sullivan FE's on opposite corridors. Those were very nice FE's.
