    Recommended Restaurants Outside Disney

The Sweet Tomatoes restaurant is all-you-can-eat good, healthy food. Use the "Orlando 1" location on Kirkman Road as this is in a good area and closer to Disney (and Universal). My neighborhood has the Market Street Cafe with family-oriented food and prices. If you would like to try...

    Coolmax clothing brand?

Light colors in CoolMax are the way to go! I wear Coolmax or similar all the time in summer here in Florida. It definitely makes a difference. Coolmax is my favorite. I think WalMart sells some athletic wear that is Coolmax. Also, the Nike outlet store on 192 has Dri-Fit clothing which is...

Opinions on the Disney Dining Experience Please.....

I guess this is off-topic, but the last section of Celebration is just opening up. I guess it will take a couple years to sellout, but that depends on the housing market. As far as prices go, single-family detached homes range from the low 200's to multi-million dollar estates. If you'd...

Opinions on the Disney Dining Experience Please.....

I've used the Disney Dining Experience going on 3 years now and find it very worthwhile. Pros: It can be used for up to 5 other people in your party, but I have always gotten the discount even on groups of 14. It also includes discounts on alcohol. You can get a spouse card for...

    Where to buy Rice Dream

I was at the Publix (192 & International Drive) this afternoon. They have Rice Dream in original, vanilla, chocolate, and karob flavors. They also have "juice pack" sized Rice Dream. Everything is in aisle 4.

    Going to a waterpark solo?

I live nearby Disney, and go to the waterparks solo about once a week. I find it very relaxing to read a book, ride the lazy river tubes, or swim in the wave pool. Generally I don't take anything that has any real value. How much stuff do you need solo at a water park? Here's my list...

    Great American Pie Festival 2/8-2/9

If anyone will be in Orlando/Disney this weekend (2/8 or 2/9) you might like the Great American Pie Festival in Celebration, FL. Did I mention the All-You-Can-Eat-Pie-Buffet for $5? Might be something nice to do if you have just arrived and don't have parks planned for the first (or last) day...

    Sam's Club now open!

Tigger1, Sorry but no gas at this Sam's. They do have auto tire/battery, 1-hour photo (including digital cameras), beer/wine, and a seperate side store for liquor. jgates, Sam's is a couple miles closer to Disney than Wal-Mart. As you are driving away from Disney, Sam's is on your left...

    Sam's Club now open!

A brand new Sam's Club just opened yesterday on 192 east of Disney. That's the same direction you would drive for Wal-Mart, but it is closer to Disney! This is a good deal for anyone who already has a Sam's membership.

Trip planning....trying to convince husband MK is for adults too.

Depends a lot on what your DH likes. Is he into sports, or is he a gadget guy (like me)? Does he like thrill rides or educational tours? Either way, I would probably not take him on "Its a Small World" for his very first ride. Most guys like stuff like the Ultimate Home Theatre...

Can we have a test forum to do practice posts? This would help with checking our signatures, status, etc. The messages could be automatically deleted within 24 hours so it wouldn't take up much extra disk space...

Need suggestion re Water Parks for solo traveler

Shark Reef The water in the shark reef is cooled to ocean temperature. You swim along the surface only with just your hands (I guess kicking with your feet can attract the sharks). The fish and sharks swim below you. I'm not sure how deep it is, but it appears to be at least 10 ft. The...

Need suggestion re Water Parks for solo traveler

I'd recommend Typhoon Lagoon. It doesn't have the big slides like Blizzard Beach, but it does have a larger wave pool and wading areas. Note: Be careful with the wave pool; the waves are stronger than they look. Have fun!

    Waterpark Solo?

I just came back today from Typhoon Lagoon solo! :sunny: This week is the first week that Typhoon Lagoon AND Blizzard Beach are open simultaneously for the summer season, the crowds were very reasonable (i.e. you could still find your choice of lounge chair). I solo there a couple times a...
