I think mousekeeping isn't allowed to take anything that is left by any guest. It can be viewed as stealing. I'd try to maybe hand it off to people just arriving, or take it to the airport?

I have 4 kids- they're grown up now, but let me tell you the last thing I want is them all in the same room. I've gotten 2 rooms before and been very happy for the extra space and the ability to separate fighting siblings. I'd price out two value against two moderate resorts and see what you get.
