We like La Quinta Oceanfront. Right on the beach, next to the pier. Has a nice pool and free breakfast. The rooms are fairly newly renovated. Ocean front or ocean view rooms. We Also like Grills or Fishlips.

You can also book once onboard - they often have port day specials

If your child was in high school and taking harder courses, I'd really have to think about it. But it's 1st grade -- I'm sure you can get his assignments ahead of time and he can do them on vacation, if not before. No question - 7 nights on the Fantasy is far better!

We rode jetskis out to Stingray City and then over to Rum Point Beach. We booked it through Island Marketing. It was so much fun and very exciting to jet ski about 4 miles from the beach to the sting rays. Reasonably priced too, I thought. We plan to do it again next time.

Last year on the Dream, my husband and I went to the rainforest room after the lifeboat drill. We were the only ones there. We had the tile chairs and hottubs to ourselves. And when the ship sailed away we stood at the open air area and waved goodbye.
