    Food Sub-Par??

Think of food from the Disney perspective -- DCL has to offer food that will appeal to: (a) families with picky-eater children; (b) vegetarians, vegans and specific food allergy sufferers; (c) adult picky-eaters whose think that anything with a sauce is either icky or too spicy; (d) adults and...

Those travelling woth kids, is the Rainforest weekly pass worth it.

During our Fantasy cruise, I would get up early each morning (before anyone else), work out in the gym until 7pm, then go into the Rainforest Room for about 1/2 hour or longer. I would then go grab the kids (boys, 4 & 11) and take them to breakfast while Mom slept in. Mom and I would negotiate...

Fantasy vs. Dream - My take from last week

I did miss that sign -- and evidently so did many kids. I saw them up in that area all the time.

GOOD SPOT FOR A PROPOSAL on THE FANTASY

Romantic -- book Remy and have the waiter put the ring in the champagne cocktail that you get at the beginning of the meal (or have a special course served with the ring incorporated in it - the staff will work with you). Highly public (and I'm not sure it could be done) -- have Crush help...

Fantasy vs. Dream - My take from last week

While it is true that Satellite Falls is an adult only area, there is a walkway around it (at the front of the ship) that is for everyone. So - if your 12 year old wants to pull a "I'm The King of the World" from Titanic, that can be done on either ship.

10, almost 11 year old...will he be bored in Oceaneers club/lab?

We were in the same situation as you in April -- our son was about 2 weeks away from his 11th birthday, but trends young (we held him back a class because of his small size and development delays). We went to the open houses for both the Edge and the Oceaneers Lab/Club, and he chose the latter...

Total Cruise Newbie -- booked on Fantasy

On our April 14 cruise on the Fantasy, we were not able to board until 1:30 pm -- but we went right up to the Palo/Remy desk (right outside the Meridian Bar on 13th floor -- use the aft elevators) and scored a Palo brunch with our choice of times. We pre-booked Palo & Remy dinners -- but we...

    Remy on the Fantasy

I believe that the staff will work with you on your preferences. I have read reviews of vegetarian meals served at Remy - but keep the Wagyu beef on your menu regardless. You can also do an ala carte meal (chosing from the list of dishes), but I think you get fewer courses if you do so.

recent Fantasy cruisers - cost of Rainforest Room pass?

We bought a couples pass the first day at the Spa. I ended up using the Rainforest Room every morning (at around 8 am) after my workout -- at that hour, it was like my own private balcony! The steam room was the hottest of the trio, although my wife complained that nothing was hot enough for her...

    Matinee on the Fantasy

We went to a matinee show of Wishes (at around 3pm or 4pm), and our son went to another matinee of Disney Dreams with a friend. We saw the matinees offered for the big shows (Wishes, Aladdin, Dreams), for the movie (on Pirate night), and for the "live act" show on the third day. Matinees work...

    Remy on the Fantasy

Nothing but raves for the entire experience. We did not do the wine pairings, but my wife and I each chose a different chef's menu (we ordered a bottle of red Bordeaux from the wine list). We have also eaten at high-end restaurants elsewhere (Michelin-starred restaurants in France, V&A's), and...

    Breakfast on Fantasy?

Enchanted Garden has a breakfast buffet (although it does not have the selection that Cabanas has). The Royal Court is your sit-down option, but it has limited hours compared to Cabanas and the Enchanted Garden. They will seat you and serve you your drinks in the Enchanted Garden -- in Cabanas...

    We are not cheap drunks...really...

During our last 7 day cruise (on the Magic Western), we would bring our unopened bottle of wine to the dining room, pay the corkage fee that night when it was opened, drink one glass of wine each, and then have the wine we didn't drink saved for our next dinner. When the servers brought out the...

4/14/2012 7-Nights Western Caribbean on the Fantasy

I booked AirTran out of Boston, leaving 4/11 and returning 4/22 (our son goes to a Catholic school that IS taking the extra days for the conference). Non-stops each way, great price for that convenience ($1505 for 4, round trip). With luck, Southwest will take over before April and we'll avoid...

Cruise Curmudgeons of the World Unite

I suppose that I am a closet curmudgeon, since this thread has prompted me -- who loves all things Disney and DCL -- to rediscover those gripes and peeves I have hidden for all these years, such as: - Fish extenders, gift exchanges, and scrapbooking -- don't get it, don't want it, and if I...

4/14/2012 7-Nights Western Caribbean on the Fantasy

We booked a while ago - me, my wife, and 2 sons (10 & 4). Looking forward to it!

Did you notice that there was no draft beer on board?

The beer equivalent to NesCafe must be Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Did you notice that there was no draft beer on board?

It should be OK -- unless Disney has a contract with NesCafe to produce it.

    Margarita Tastings

We did the tequila tasting on the Magic. At the time, the cost was $15.00 pp. I think I got my money's worth, since I learned something about the different grades of tequila, with how to appreciate them (and we were served a small margarita, which we were told should be made with gold or silver...
