Hilton Waikiki and what to do there before Aulani......

We spent a few nights at Hilton Hawaiian Village before heading over to Aulani as well. We didn't rent a car from the airport but instead took a shuttle to the hotel. We were able to walk down to the mall and down to all the restaurants on Waikiki beach. There is an interesting military museum...

Fast Pass + with 21 night stay

There is a maximum number of days that you can have FP+ selected for. We've run into this problem when we had multiple trips close together in that we couldn't fully book the second trip at the 60 day window. We normally have annual passes so not sure if this is an issue with that as opposed to...

    Aulani Grand Villa view question

We stayed in GV unit # 401. Here is the view we had.

    First Trip - Transportation/Restaurant Questions

There are several restaurants across the street from Aulani that are an easy walk if you decide not to eat on property. We normally hit the grocery store and enjoy most of our meals in the room but enjoy the splurge at Monkey Pod and Pizza Corner. During our last trip, we spent our first couple...

10 Day WDW Itinerary help please

Just returned from an 11 day trip. Would suggest doing as many rope drops as you can. For AK, book your FP+ for Flights of Passage and then do Na'vi via stand-by line at rope drop. Everyone is running to get in line for Flights so the Na'vi line moves pretty quickly.

How Silly of a girl am I??? (Teppan Edo)

Walk-ins are welcome as long as there is availability. Teppen Edo, Biergarten, and Nine Dragons seem to be the easiest to do this with but during busy times you might get turned away. I would suggest checking the app and snagging an ADR the day you want to eat. Might save you some steps around...

Best way to go from AOA to Chef Mickey to MK

If that is a day that MK has extra magic hours you should be able to catch a bus to the MK and then walk the path to Contemporary (quick, easy walk). Otherwise, I would suggest taking Uber or cab, most have car seat options, and then just walk to MK after breakfast.

    Wait Times 400mins!!!

45 minutes is about our max. This ride is awesome but I won't be standing in line for 160+ minutes for it.

Dear WDW, (an open letter from our DLR stay)

Completely agree with the frustrations over discounts. With all they know about us with the Magic Band now we shouldn't even have to mention it, it should be just automatic. Not sure about others but with all the money that's we've spent to get a DVC or AP discount, shouldn't have to beg for it.

    Bringing fruit on vacation

When traveling for a long distance (driving to FL or flying to Hawaii) we always carry some kind of fruit for snacks along with other snack foods. For the plane, we have a smaller soft side cooler that we use as a carry on. If you have access to an airline lounge, they will normally have no...

    Bay Lake Tower

If you have a lake view, ask for a room toward the center of the horseshoe. This will give you a large laundry room which is nice when the little ones are asleep on the couch and you need to do / fold laundry. My DW likes to request the 5th floor to avoid as many elevator rides to cross over to...

Teppen Edo - Tell me about it!

It's our kids favorite in Epcot. The steak and shrimp are their favs. You can request steamed rice if you prefer that over brown rice. Plan on the meal taking a little over an hour from when you sit down to when you finish up.

Would you take a mid-day break in this situation?

At 29, my wife and I would be at MK from RD to when they kicked us out. Total commando mode. Now, with kids and being older, no way. Wouldn't want to get out of bed the next morning. :-) I think the biggest decision factor would be how long it would take to get from MK back to your hotel and...

    EPCOT advice

I would highly recommend getting a FP+ for Soarin if you are going to try to walk onto TT. The lines for both grow quickly even at RD. There are some fun activities for elementary age kids at the end of Spaceship Earth. Not sure what is open at Innoventions right now as they were closing parts...

BCV: where to shower on check out day?!

I would highly recommend contacting BCV directly to confirm if you can or cannot use the shower at the gym on check-out day. We have used them in the past but not for several years.

    Jedi Training Academy?

Depending on when you visit DHS will depend on if you need to be there at RD. If it's SWW or a holiday weekend then be there way before RD so you are the front of the line. If you want the opportunity to choose your time slot as opposed to taking what's left, be there at RD. The slots are...

How many points do most people have?

We suffer from addonitist. Yes, it's a disease that can only be cured by visiting WDW. pirate: Started in 1998 with 150 points at OKW. Added on at SSR, BLT, BLT (yes, 2 contracts), BCV, and finally GFV. We are now happy owners of 750 points.

    Annual Passes & DVC

No discount on the premier pass unless they do another special like they did last year. Checked on this a month or so ago with member services and they wouldn't give any indication that the deal will be offered again.

    CR versus BLT

I wouldn't say that the walk is any shorter from BLT than CR because you have to cross the parking lot unless your staying in the CR wing and then yes, BLT is closer. One big advantage of BLT over CR is that there are multiple elevator banks and they never seem busy like the ones at CR. Seemed...

    CR versus BLT

If you want the lake view, I would recommend requesting a room at the center of the horseshoe. Gives you a direct view out to the lake. In addition, due the the shape of the building, you end up with a dedicated laundry room. Allows for all the dirty clothes as well as nice storage for your...
