    Universal for 4 & 6 yr olds?

We just came back from our 1st trip with our just turned 7 yr old DS, 5-1/2 yr old DS and just turned 2 yr DD. I had the same concerns ahead of time but I have to say there was something for everyone. My 5 yr old is a bit of a daredevil so I wasn't really worried about him finding things he...

    King Suite at Royal Pacific

We just got back from a stay in a king suite. This was our first trip to Universal so we don't have anything to compare it to but I'll give you my overall opinion. First of all, FOTL was awesome. Can't say enough about it. Second, RPR is beautiful. The pool is awesome. The boys (7 and 5)...

Where to eat w/ young children???

I don't think Citywalk is really "adult" until later in the evening. We plan to check it out at night with the kids so we'll let you know our thoughts. We're not doing any character meals this time. Our last couple Disney trips we scheduled ourselves silly so we're trying to be more relaxed...

June 15-21...we're back and missing HRH!

So glad you had a nice trip. We leave tomorrow for RPR. What's the weather been like? Weather channel has been showing lots of rain. If it did rain on you, did it dampen your spirits (or your ability to do anything at the parks?)

    1 Day left!!!!

We leave tomorrow for our first trip to Universal and 1st stay at RPR. Thanks to all here who helped with my trip planning. I should be packing right now but I'm too excited and nervous (kind of silly I know!). Any last minute advice or things I need to know??? My boys (7 and 5) are watching...

    Rpr - 6/13-14

I just read your post - are there fireworks now?? I thought I read they were only in July. If so, can you tell me the details - where, when etc.

    Rpr - 6/13-14

Thanks so much for your report. We're going to RPR on 6/25 for our first trip to Universal. I'm getting so nervous about packing for everyone but at least I know we'll love the hotel. We're staying in a king suite so we have a separate place to put the baby to sleep (if we were all in the...

    tips for best food deal

I had no idea that was a perk for staying on-site. It sounds kind of like a Disney priority seating but with that you have to actually make the reservation ahead of time. Thanks for the info.

    tips for best food deal

We'll be at RPR on 6/25 for our first trip. I thought this thread was really interesting. We've been to Disney many times and I've always spent hours making priority seating reservations and planning out our days. This trip we are trying to be much more relaxed and just rely on FOTL. But, we...

    Universal Express Pass Plus

When we looked into in for our trip next week it was $37/per person (per park). We wound up deciding to stay on-site. I'm sure someone else could answer if they get sold out.

room allowance at any US resort (NEWBIE QUESTION_PLEASE HELP)

I guess I'm confused about why babies in a crib would count. Not that I like to bend the rules, but if you bring your own pack-n-play then why would they need to know (you don't need a room key for a 1 year old!!). Now maybe there would be a space issue if you needed 2 cribs (fire hazard??)...

6/7 & 6/9 First time and we had a blast!

Thanks for the trip report. Congratulations on adopting your son!!! We're going next week with our ds's 7 & 5 and dd 2 so hearing about your prospective of travelling with small kids is very helpful. I'm so used to mega planning our Disney trips that going to Universal without much of a...

How many in King Suite at RPR?

I think the official answer is that they allow 3 in the King Suite but will make exceptions for small children. For ex., they are allowing me to have 4 in the room because my boys are 5 and 7 and will share the bed. If that doesn't work after the 1st night, I'll request the rollaway bed and...

    Mondays in July??

Thanks Phamton. You guys have been giving me great advice so we are excited about our trip! What's the weather been like there lately? Its been in the 90's and humid in Connecticut so it probably won't be much of a change.

We'll be at RPR 6/25-6/29 - will it be insane yet?

Which park would you choose for our family?

We have DS's 7 & 5 and DD 2 and we're planning our first trip to Universal with them next week. We luckily have a few days staying at the Royal Pacific so we'll have the luxury of taking our time and using FOTL. I really can't predict where we'll spend most of our time. I think both parks have...

Help!!!! I need info on RPH!

Welcome! We'll be there the same time as you - 6/25-6/29 with 7 & 5 yr old boys and 2 yr old girl. This is our 1st trip to Universal so I'm not one of the experts you need. I would call the hotel ahead of time - you can probably get your loews number applied now. We're not going to any parks...

Are there hotels that offer shuttle service from both airport and universal?Any Tips?

I was just thinking that! If your parents can book a room for you ahead of time ( I would be surprised if they could!), definitely stay onsite. I know it costs more, but it would be very worth it in your case.

    Taking grandma along as "babysitter"

Didn't want you to feel alone! I'm jealous of all the posts about wonderful trips with grandparents. My mom lives with us (in a separate in-law apartment) but she is just not into trip to Disney. My in-laws (I have 2 sets, DH's parents are divorced and re-married) have never offered to come...

    Internet Specials

At the risk of being annoying, I'll ask one last question on this topic (which I know noticed has spread over at least 2 threads) - do they ever upgrade up from a King Suite at RPR at check-in (for Loews Blue members)? if so, what would the upgrade be to?
