Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

We are looking forward to a resort only stay at the Poly next month. What time do we need to go down to the pool if we want chairs in a shaded area? We plan to be at the pool all day, so I won’t be saving and leaving, I just have no idea how early we need to be there.

    Dolphin Fireworks View

We had a fireworks view room at the Dolphin this April. We have also had firework views at the GF and Contemporary. We were very happy with the view and felt you could watch the whole show. If you’re familiar with the resort, it’s the rooms that face the Boardwalk Bridge.

Birthday Dinner or Lunch..where to go

There are a few places I would recommend for a nice lunch. Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club has offerings that are different from the standard hamburger/ chicken sandwich. It's my go to place when you have a variety of likes. Grand Floridian Cafe is also a nice choice in a beautiful setting...

Trying to decide on first time Resort

I see you're leaning towards the PO-those would be my choices, hands down. I've stayed at almost every resort (except CSR and AoA) and I love PO. The ability to take the boat to Disney Springs is a big perk-the bus and parking situation there can be annoying. You will have easy access to so many...

    Baby carrier recommendations?

At that age I loved using a ring sling. You just slip it over your head like a cross body bag-no tying required. I found it the coolest of my carrier options when we visited in July. Check out Didymos and look at the Didysling.

Last day at Disney/MK where to eat to end the magic?

You could try for Be Our Guest. I believe dinner starts around 4 or 4:30. You could do Crystal Palace if you like buffets or think DD would like the Winnie the Pooh characters. DD may like eating at Beaches and Cream at the BC and then renting a surrey bike from the BW.

Back carrier for 2 yr old - recommendations ASAP for trip next week?

I'm glad you went for it. Hope you love it!

    Beach Club vs Yacht Club

I would definitely save the money and go YC. The two are connected so you get the same amenities for less.

Restaurant recs for food snob with small children?

Going with small children is no problem-it's Disney so kids are everywhere. We're foodies as well and these are some of our favorites for dinner: Yachtsman Steakhouse California Grill Narcoosse's Flying Fish Blue Zoo The Wave can be good-service has been hit or miss Be Our Guest Nice lunch as...

If you haven't already, call and explain that to them. Maybe it will persuade them to make your time a little later.

First night, staying at BCV, where to eat?

I'm wondering the same thing for our arrival day. I was thinking Captain's Grille at the YC might be a nice low-key option.

Back carrier for 2 yr old - recommendations ASAP for trip next week?

I do have both (and many other carriers!) I wear my LO a lot, but we just came back from Disney and I used the stroller more because of the heat! I mostly wore while waiting in line or if we had to travel by bus. If it were cooler, it may have been a different story. Do you think your child is...

Back carrier for 2 yr old - recommendations ASAP for trip next week?

I have a Tula and I love it. It definitely fits better for bigger children. If your child wears size 2t or larger you should order the toddler size. And like a pp said, put the waist strap higher-right under your chest-and that will give you a higher carry. Another good option for bigger...

Anyone want to weigh-in on my resort choices?...trying to narrow it down!

I agree with many that The Swan seems like your best bet. Maybe you can pick up some non-cook breakfast items for the room-cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. You will be in the middle of all the Disney action for a better price.

For those who fly to WDW with babies...

Traveling with a 4 month old will be easier behavior wise. The baby will just want to be in her carrier or stroller and be "along for the ride". Napping shouldn't be an issue. A 1 year old will show more interest in where you are, but will probably want time to play and explore, not spend a lot...

The Everything Victoria & Albert's Thread

I would budget about 3 hours for dinner. Theoretically you could make it to the park;we have always been in too much of a food haze to want to do anything much afterwards. You could wander around the GF lobby-music goes until 9:45.

    Help with Honeymoon Resort Choice!?

I love the GF-it's where we go when we want to celebrate something special. I love staying in the main building and listening to the music from our room or the club lounge. It's so convenient to get on the monorail and be in the MK with one stop. There are so many great dining options too! BWI...

Minnie's Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine

Up early for nothing-not very happy right now! I just hope it gets released sometime today so I don't have to do this again tomorrow!

Saratoga Springs or Wilderness Lodge this December?

I would definitely book Saratoga. We were going to go the WL this December, but switched because of all of the construction that is scheduled. The entire DVC pool will be ripped out/being reconstructed, plus with all that noise we knew DD wouldn't be able to take a nap. You will love having all...
