The Wonder of Alaska - 6/1/15

bcwife76, how convenient that you live in the Vancouver area. That is definitely a plus for an Alaskan cruise. I really don't think you'd regret doing it for such a milestone. It is a phenomenal experience. And I have to tell you that we fell in love with Vancouver when we were there in...

The Wonder of Alaska - 6/1/15

To add pictures you need to first upload them to a site like Photobucket. You can then copy the code and paste that into your trip report. It's very easy once you get the hang of it. I hope you love the cruise as much as we did. It really is a fantastic itinerary!

The Wonder of Alaska - 6/1/15

Hi All, As there has been a call for more trip reports on the main DCL page I thought I would write one for our upcoming Alaskan cruise. We will be setting sail on 6/1/15 from the beautiful city of Vancouver and we are getting really excited! :) Our cast of characters...and some of us really...

For those in the first Mixology group, I have everyone's stateroom numbers and have submitted them to DCL. We should hear something within the next week or two.

    Southern Caribbean 2014. . . Let's Start the Planning!

Is there still room on your tour? My DH is doing a hike/beach excursion with friends through Disney but my parents and I want to do an island tour. Right now we are signed up for one through DCL, but would be interested in hearing more about the Circumnavigate tour. I'll PM you as well to...

Multiple consecutive DVC reservations and Magic Band confusion

The CMs will not be able to do this. We had a similar scenario on our last trip and had to make each set of dining reservations separately. Neither the online system nor the phone CMs were able to book beyond the window for each separate resort reservation.

    Magical Southern Caribbean ~ 9/20/14

DCL has gotten back to me about the private Mixology event. I have requested the event for Sunday afternoon (our only sea day). The cost is $15 per person. They will let us know the full details 2-3 weeks before we sail. At that time they will need the names and stateroom numbers of everyone...

    Magical Southern Caribbean ~ 9/20/14

Excellent! With our six that makes 16. I'm going to go ahead and book it. I am sure we will find 4 more that want to participate. eandesmom, have you decided if you'd like to participate yet? I will contact DCL to set up the session. It will probably be on the first day in the afternoon...

    Magical Southern Caribbean ~ 9/20/14

Hi All, DH and I are booked on this cruise, along with my parents and another couple. We aren't interested in the FE group but were wondering if anyone is looking into a private Mixology class. We would be interested in joining in, if there is still room. If nobody has already looked...

    Tipping is it really necessary??!!

Whether they should or not, DCL does not include tips in the cruise fare. By not tipping you are not punishing DCL, you are punishing the crew members who are working 70 hours a week to make your vacation better. These crew members could never afford a vacation like a DCL cruise. They make...

Can't waitlist, best time to try to switch rooms?

Congratulations and Welcome Home! Just a tip...if you have your own stroller with you (or your kids are old enough to make the walk on their own) it is much easier to walk to the MK than take the monorail. The CR is the first stop after the MK so taking the monorail means riding the...

    BLT and Food and Wine

I don't think I'd pick BLT for a F&W stay. If I couldn't get BWV or BCV then I'd stick with my home resort, OKW. Personally, I've never understood the appeal of the monorail resorts. It's nice that they are close to the MK (although from the CR I'd just walk to the MK as it's much faster)...

    Cozumel Chakanaab experiences?

I don't know if they would allow your DD to do the dolphin encounter with you, but hopefully someone else with have that information. I believe that, if it is possible, you will need to book this on your own, rather than through DCL, because of her age. When we were there last December the...

Will You Buy an Annual Pass or Is the Economy Just too Bad?

Yup...we just bought our APs. We'll be going in December for 2 weeks and then again next November for another two weeks. I'd love to get a 3rd trip in there, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. We're DVC members so the only things I have to pay for are food, tickets and transportation...

FIVE ships at Cozumel at the same time? Is that too much?

On the day we were there last December there were 8 ships in port. We did not feel like it affected our experience in the least. The shops were not overcrowded and Chankanaab wasn't overrun. I think you'll be fine.
