Annual pass holder- discount- something I didn't know

I work in retail, and I must say I agree with Disney on this one. By definition, the "customer" is the one with the money in their hands, who gives the money to the cashier. It doesn't matter who's nearby, or who has what card. The customer is the person paying. Say, for example, a father...

    rock'n'roller coaster 'n' motion sickness

I hadn't thought about taking Bonine ahead of time, what a great idea! We frequent DL more often than WDW, and I have noticed that I'm much less prone to motion sickness at DL after flying there & taking Bonine for the flight. Good idea!

    rock'n'roller coaster 'n' motion sickness

That's good to hear. Like I said, rides like Star Tours used to make me queasy, and I just BARELY survived Indy the first time. Since then, I find that it helps if I spread my feet wide apart, grab the handle in front of me with both hands - almost as if I'm trying to squat or stand instead of...

    rock'n'roller coaster 'n' motion sickness

I haven't taken Bonine in the parks. I take it on the plane one the way there, and it pretty much knocks me out (even though it's supposed to be non-drowsy), so I'd hesitate to take it in the parks for fear of falling asleep in line...

    rock'n'roller coaster 'n' motion sickness

I'm prone to motion sickness, & have avoided some rides at WDW in the past. I love Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain - they're just fast enough to make me a little woozy afterwards, but not really sick, & only for a few minutes. Expedition Everest was perhaps a little too much, but I could...

    LAX car rental-any in terminal?

I don't believe that any rental companies have cars at the terminal - they're all shuttles. However, Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, Fox/Payless, National and Thrifty have their own shuttles, while all other companies have "communal" shuttles to a separate lot.

    DL attractions vs WDW

I think the in-car soundtrack is the best part of the DL version of Space Mountain. With apologies to the Dick Dale fans out there, I love the song itself, I think it goes perfectly with the ride itself and even elevates it to a new level. I generally think the side-by-side seating is better...

What's going on with the Matterhorn?

Yeah, I think that's what the new cars are for. The old cars had two "seating areas" per car, which fit one person each (or two if you really like each other :lovestruc ). The new cars will have three individual seats per car, with a bar instead of a lap belt. We're thinking of visiting DLR...

What's going on with the Matterhorn?

When we were at DL last summer the Matterhorn was closed for extensive refurbishments. From what I understand, Disney had planned on putting in new cars (with one person per seat), but that didn't happen, and will happen in the next refurbishment instead. So, is there anything else going on...

The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 2.0

Wow, great thread! I love all the photos! So here's my question (short version): how hard is it going to be to get a studio at VGC in mid summer at the 7 month window? Long version: I've been tossing around the idea of DVC for several years now. The problem is we alternate between WDW and...

Win a trip on the Dream Preview Cruise, contest

I've been trying to figure out which Dream cruise is actually the first, and which contests are out there. Just in case anyone else is trying to figure this out (it took me a while, since I'm trying to enter all the Disney Dream contests I can find...) The first cruise aboard the Dream is a...

No Magic On The Disney Cruise

Cruise Critic has some good articles about the norovirus & its relation to cruise ships. For example, one article points out that you hear about illnesses in the news because cruise ships are required to report to the CDC, but no one else is (i.e. schools, day cares, etc.) Here's a link...

    Dinner dress code

I wonder if Disney would be better off setting dress code standards by dining room rather than by night. I've never been on a Disney Cruise, but from the pictures & reports it sounds like Triton's/Lumiere's are more formal, while Parrot Cay and the buffets are more casual - informal "island" or...

    Points for rent/transfer: 952 points @ $12 per point

We rented points from Stuart Song last summer. They were prompt and thorough, and put in our numerous room requests perfectly. We had a great trip, & I wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again. Thanks again!

EMH for Epcot- is WS open late too?

Weird! The same exact thing happened to us last week! We had all the pennies except Canada! Again, this was the first week of June. However, we noticed that almost every single shop, ride, and restaurant had its own closing time. Most of the restaurants closed at least an hour before the...

Funniest comments you've overheard in WDW

We just heard this one last week, as we were on our way out of one of the parks one night. A tired Mom turned to her son and said "No, son, there's not a Fastpass for the parking lot."

    What's International Gateway for?

Aside from the "walk up" entrance, there appears to be a large bus turnaround, and a bus waiting area. I don't see anywhere for a bus to come from, unless the driveway predates the Beach Club and the boardwalk. Anyone know what all this was supposed to be for?
